Would a 3 year old enjoy this product?

My 4 year old hardly takes this toy to play. I Guess the cubes are too small to catch his attention or rather to make a creation substantial to sustain his interest would take a Long time. If you are thinking he can follow the card and build the same model, it is very difficult for toddlers to follow thru, they have no patience. I would recommend Magformers ( the big square pieces) make impressive designs that are big and easily attachable by magnets. Another one is the junior engineer building set from GIGO that he enjoys using the hammer to knock in the screw etc. My four year old loves these 2 toys and easily play for 20 mins to half an hour each session. The other alternative for learning resource for the same concept is "Mental Blox" - this game easier for 3 year old. Learning Resources also have the Primary Science 12 piece lab set which my sons enjoys too, can play up to 45 mins before he gets bored. Hope it helps.

Do the colors of the wooden blocks match the colors on the cards? I saw some reviews which said they do not. Thank you!

I believe mine matched, I was disappointed as the blocks are not 1" cubes as is the standardized height but 3/4" and as an occupational therapist that's what I needed. If your buying it as a visual perceptual activity then it's fine. also the cards jump to higher level and I worked with preschoolers so didn't have so many cards to choose from for the kids to copy.

Is it possible to only purchase the design cards without the blocks? I previously already purchased the blocks.
