Pros: -Good price especially when bought on sale -Easy to set up -Includes start up batteries -Enables me to monitor the difference between indoor and outdoor temperature and humidity levels so I would know when to ventilate my home -Doesn’t require changing batteries often -Seems reasonably accurate compared to my other devices (some are from the same brand manufacturer, others are not) Cons: -Inability to monitor temperature remotely

Simple display of temperature and humidity inside/outside works great. Decent range from outside through multiple walls/windows. Display is exact size as in listing but on smaller side once you have it in your hand. Magnet on back of display sticks well to fridge door. Display illuminates for a few seconds when pushing the “light” icon.

I hung my transmitter on a garden stake outside, near my full-sun uncovered patio. It's about 100ft from my receiver that is inside my kitchen. There is a small hole/hanger at the top of the outdoor transmitter, that I push a zip tie through to hang it from. Because I hang it from the top of it, rain hits it from the top and sides, but the air vents at the bottom stay dry. I also do not "mount" it to anything, and literally just let it hang out in the open, so it dries out quickly on all sides, and there is no moisture trapped between it and a mounting surface or wall. I bought this 9 months ago, and am just now "recharging" the transmitter for the first time. I realized the transmitter battery needed to be recharged when the receiver in my kitchen was reading the indoor temp/humidity, but only had dots for the outdoor temp/humidity. 9 month battery life = pretty impressive. The hardest part about it was remembering where I put the charging cord for safe keeping. In line with other reviews, there is some discrepancy in the accuracy of the reading - but not enough to make a difference for me. I use this to know whether or not it's okay to leave my temperature-sensitive dog outside for the day while I'm at work. I just factor in the possibility of a 5-10 degree F temperature difference. In fall/winter, if its lower than 60 degrees (or maybe 50 degrees if it's not reading accurately), I do not leave her outside while I'm at work. In the summer, if its already 85 degrees, and it's only 7 am (which means it might be 90+ or over 100 that day), I do not leave her outside. But if its reading between 60-85 degrees outside when I leave for work, the dog gets to stay outside and enjoy it. It's not perfect, but it takes some of the guesswork/worry out of it for me.
