desertcart.com: Windows Server 2012 Unified Remote Access Planning and Deployment: 9781849688284: Ben-ari, Erez, Natarajan, Bala: Books Review: The easiest, secure, remote setups I've ever set up - If you're setting up remote connections, you need this book. I've setup VPN many times on windows server. I've setup DirectAccess many times on ISA and TMG. Now Server 2012 introduces a large set of connection technologies that seemed impossibly complex to sort through. This book not only explains them, it leads you through one of the easiest, secure, remote setups I've ever set up. It also explains the maze of various IPv4 to IPv6 transitions technologies and options to enable IPv6 only hosts to communicate efficiently over IPv4 intermediate segments. When you're done, you'll have a GPO driven configuration that requires nothing more than joining your host to the domain. It also supports much easier connections with non-Windows and old-Windows hosts. Review: Amazing and Complete Resource for Deploying DA2012 (URA) on Server 2012 - Another amazing book by Erez Ben-Ari. The first book on UAG (Microsoft Forefront UAG 2012 Administrator's Handbook) was excellent so i dove in on his second without much hesitation. I was not dissappointed. A very easy read with lots of history and reasons why Microsoft chose to do the things they did. Hopefully this will make people's lives easier as they strive to more fully support their customers and make their lives easier. Excellent walk throughs are done and being only a few hundred pages, it is an easy read for anyone wanting to get their "feet wet" with this new technology. it goes from the very simple implimentions through the global ones and potentially cloud based as well. Great job!

Outstanding Text, a Must Have for learning about Direct Access!
If you want to learn about the new remote access features of Windows Server 2012 and Direct Access, look no further. The authors present the material in an easy to understand and engaging fashion. I couldn't stop reading until I finished. I plan on reading it again and setting up a home lab environment to test out the fundamentals presented in the book for Windows 7 and Windows 8 client access. You can tell that there is a wide range of experience in the way the authors have laid out the chapters and the way the material flows. Get this book, you won't be disappointed!

If you're planning and deploying DirectAccess, get this book first!
I work as a Deployment Architect for Microsoft, and DirectAccess is one of my areas of expertise. To all who are planning and/or deploying DA, or for those who are doing a technical evaluation of DA, this book is for you. Bala and Ben do a fantastic job of making this somewhat complex technology comprehensible. They also cover essential elements for any DA design. Much of the information in this book is available online, but this book goes beyond the online documentation and provides excellent guidance for DA in general. If you are evaluating or deploying DirectAccess, do yourself a massive favor and get this book and read it first. It will do a great job of educating you on the technology, and shows how to design an overall enterprise deployment. Its been invaluable for my work!

We had an existing deployment of DirectAccess running on UAG. We were already midway through our planning to migrate to Windows 8. Windows 8 wasn't supported on UAG at the time so we wanted to build out a Windows Server 2012 Unifed Remote Access solution as expeditiously as possible. With the knowledge found in this book we were able to deploy the solution in less than a week. The book is clear, concise and accurate. Thanks Ben!
