After cleaning, sponges often undergo a natural lightening process using bleaching agents (potassium permanganate) which are then thoroughly rinsed out. Thank you for your question. The sponge used in this product is a Yellow Sea Sponge. Please note that both the sea wool and yellow sponges are natural sea sponges. The difference between the sea wool and the yellow sponge is that the former is exceptionally soft, while the latter has more texture thus providing a firmer and better exfoliating wash.

Does this sponge comes with a string?

No, there is no string attached to this natural sea sponge. However, the sponge is supplied in a mesh bag which has a drawstring which can be hung up if required.
