BraceAbility Closed Toe Medical Walking Shoe
Like many of the people here, I ended up having to buy a medical boot to allow my foot to heal from an injury. In my case, I broke my pinkie toe. For a month, I thought I could make due on my own without buying any special equipment. I taped it, I babied it, I hobbled around in my winter boots...all was going well until I refractured it. After THAT happened, my husband convinced me to get a proper medical boot. I didn't want one of those big and clunky things that go half way up your calf, so I went searching on Amazon. This bootie was the perfect compromise. This medical bootie is SO easy to put on and wear. It opens completely up, allowing you to put on the bootie without any additional pressure on your injury. The various velcro straps made the bootie very secure on my foot. The size Medium was perfect for my size 7.5 foot. I also tried the small, but my foot was pushing out the front. I did have to borrow one of my husband's thick winter socks to wear inside the boot so my foot didn't twist or slosh in the boot..it kind of helped fill in the space. I could tighten the straps down but my toe was not having the extra pressure, so this was my work around. It is fairly lightweight but protective of the foot. I've accidentally stubbed my foot a few times while wearing this and it definitely protected my foot from any reinjury. I've spent 2 months wearing this bootie.... I went from hobbling around on my heel in it, to finally being able to put some occasionally pressure down, and now I can "walk" while wearing it. This has been a godsend after the refracture, and I wish I had gotten it when I first broke my toe. I've worn it in the rain and in the cold. I've even accidentally fallen asleep while wearing it, and it was still comfortable. It does best on smooth and flat pavement, but I've taken it out for a spin on grassy hills and my backyard. I've been using a cane to help with stability when out in public or getting in/out of my vehicle. I've finally gotten more mobility back and think I'll be out of the bootie fairly soon. I wanted to wait a fair bit before I wrote my review, to make sure it actually helped my injury, but I've been very satisfied with it since I bought it. I've put it through it's paces the past 2 months and it's still holding up fine. Highly HIGHLY recommend to anyone with a toe injury or foot injury. Skip the big bulky boot and get this one instead.

Decent boot for broken toe/foot
Did something stupid and dropped a battery on the top of my foot. My toe took the brunt of the impact. But it's awkward placement. It's weight bearing and a pivot point. This boot has helped so much. I wear a women's size 8 and there is plenty of room in this with the compression wrap on my foot. There is a little wiggle room towards the toes and some play in the heel. Depending on the day, it doesn't bother me, but some days it can rub a little. I found no issues with adjusting the Velcro to get a snug fit. It doesn't rub the top of my foot. The sole is thick! It absorbs a lot of impact and doesn't translate to the actual foot. I like this being smaller than my last boot that ran up to my knee. This doesn't make my foot sweat a ton either. Overall a really good boot.

Happy with this purchase
A good light boot you can drive with and doesn't weigh a ton. A little big for my foot but I just wore an extra sock. Kept my toes from bending which is what I needed. It doesn't give the protection a hard boot provides, but I liked this for weekend light walking and around the house. Also not as tall in the sole so it doesn't throw my hip and knee out of joint. Overall I would definitely recommend this item, it's comfortable and low in cost compared to other boots.

Great product, would highly recommend.
Great product. Perfectly designed. Durable, easy fit, not too bulky. This is a comfortable way to protect my broken toe. Velcro has a strong hold, doesn’t slip off. Material is easy to clean, soft, and comfortable but tough enough to protect Great value, much less expensive than local medical supply store.

Comfortable fit
All of these type of shoes have such mixed reviews that I hesitated to even try to pick one. Ultimately I chose this one because of same day delivery. Plus its sizing info seemed clear. The fit is great. I have a small ankle but can adjust it to fit. My concern was the top of the shoe because the injury and swelling is on the top of my foot. It adjusts to hold shoe on but comfortable and soft on my foot. I wear a size 8 shoe and got the women’s medium and it is the perfect length for my foot. I had been struggling wearing a slipper on my injured foot which was shorter than my shoe on other foot. This shoe is same thickness as my shoe. That makes walking so much easier. I am very pleased overall with this shoe. Now I am mobile again and can allow my foot the time it needs to heal.

Super Comfy and Supports/Protects My Broken Pinkie Toe Beautifully
Broke and displaced my pinkie toe and Urgent Care gave me an open toed medical sandal with straps that were pulling right across my break to keep it on. Bought this instead. We are heading into winter and I wanted something closed toed as well as with the strap further back so it wasn't irritating the injury. This is perfect! Lightweight, comfortable, and a large enough toe box that everything sits flat with no squishing. I'm a shoe size 8.5-9 and the medium fits beautifully. Easy on and off, and so comfy, I can even sleep in it! My podiatrist took one look at my boot when I went in to see if the toe was going to need surgery (it doesn't, yay) and told me it was perfect and to keep wearing it until I am healed. She was very impressed. Highly recommend.

Awesome at first
It is awesome for around 40 steps than the fabric on the rear and side shoe starting braking down. My foot started rolling to the outside and I was walking on the side foot. I’ve been trying to think of ways to firm the shoe up and so my foot doesn’t roll. When it’s firm it’s great but if it starts rolling it’s annoying and you have to fix it. I should mention I’m brand new to diabetes and had to get all my toes removed from my left foot. I’m just trying to find a supportive shoe I can use to at least do basic things. Hope this helps or if you have any suggestions for me too that would be awesome.

Great shoe!
This shoe is absolutely fantastic! I fractured my foot and the doctor gave me a boot, no good, hurt my back, threw out my hip causing more pain. Then he gave me a shoe, again not good for me. It was a sandal style. Then I decided to try the Amazon covered shoe. It’s a miracle and I walk easier and have no back pain. Thank you Amazon!
