PCIe Firewire Card for 10, IEEE 1394 PCI Express Adapter Controller 4 Ports(3 x 6 Pin and 1 x 4 Pin), 1394a PCI-E Firewire 800 Adapter for 7/8/Mac OS with Cable

Had my doubts about this product. Firstly it was a very low price. Secondly, the box it came in showed a total different product to what I had ordered, but the device inside was correct. The card works fine and am very pleased with it. Easy to install. No drivers needed. Windows 10 device manager show card was working. Managed to transfer videos from my JVC camera hard disk recorder, without any issues. The hard disk mounted in windows and was able to access files and transfer them with a good transfer rate. Great price.

Though the box didn't look particularly fresh, the product itself was sealed inside and works with no problems at all. The seller got it to me very quickly.

Despite it arriving in packaging proclaiming it to be a Wi-Fi card and a number of scratches on the main chip on the PCB, it is a fully working Firewire card. I installed it into a Windows 10 computer and it was automatically recognised. Using the supplied cable I plugged in an old Sony DV camcorder and that too was recognised. I was then able to transfer videos to my computer using additional software (not supplied). In my case I used Pinnacle Video Studio. I'm not convinced the card is new stock and evidence suggests it's been previously used (hence 4 stars and not 5), but to be honest I'm not that upset about it because it works without a hitch and Firewire cards are quite rare these days and it was cheap.

Die Karte war offensichtlich nicht neuwertig. Sie kam schon in einer beschädigten Verpackung, die laut Beschriftung nicht zu dieser Karte, sondern zu einer WLAN-Karte gehörte. Nach Einbau in den Rechner funktionierte sie nicht richtig. Ein Audiosignal wurde nur völlig zerstört wiedergegeben. (Das verwendete RME-Audiointerface funktioniert an einem anderen Rechner mit anderer Firewirekarte einwandfrei) Wenn ich neue Ware bestelle, erwarte ich die Lieferung neuwertiger Ware. Alles andere ist Betrug.

¡Atención tiene el chip VIA! Se ha de decir que la tarjeta funciona bien con Windows 10, 11 y Mac Os 10.6.8 (Snow Leopard), pero si la quieres usar con un Mac OS más moderno (Ventura en adelante), aunque la reconoce y carga el kext de fireware básico (OHCI), el sistema operativo no la reconoce. Si quieres hacerla funcionar en Ventura hacia adelante es mejor usar una tarjeta firewire con el chip de Texas Instruments XIO2213B. Por desgracia me veo obligado a devolverla por ese motivo

Kortet verkar slå ut mitt grafikkort så att jag inte får någon bild på någon av skärmarna. Tar jag ut kortet ur datorn så fungerar grafikkortet som det skall igen. Har sett på recensioner att flera personer haft liknande problem. The card conflicts with my graphics card so my screens receive no signals. After removing the card from the computer, my graphics card works fine again. I've noticed that other reviewers have experienced similar problems.

First of all the item came in a taped box for a wifi card and the supplied cable just falls out of the port. I have a presonus firestudio tube which uses firewire which is why I ordered this card, from the moment I connected it the device kept disconnecting and reconnecting. After some research and similar issues in the reviews it seems the card is not friendly with sharing IRQ's On initial install the card shared an IRQ with my onboard audio and GPU and the device disconnected after 5 mins. after changing PCI slots the device only shared an IRQ with 1 other device and the disconnects were less frequent, after removing all cards from my system and assuring the card did not share an IRQ with any other peripheral in my system the problem seemed to be solved, however after 30 mins the device still disconnected. It appears there is an issue with the firmware on these chips that causes this card to go in some sort of reset loop. While this chipset works for something you do not use continuedly this card is not suitable for cameras or audio equipment that is on 24/7

I've got some old audio gear that I needed to test before selling. Great card for the price - and yes Windows still knows what firewire is.
