Insulating paint
This stuff worked great! Put it on the nose of the fifth wheel and it reduced the temp a very noticeable amount.

People mis-interpret the benefits of this product
Therma cells work great for some applications but many people seem to miss-interpret the benefits of using it. I used it on my school bus conversion's interior walls and did some testing on it. I used Rust-Oleum bedliner and did a thick two-coat application for reference. I would highly recommend a thicker coating like a bedliner for use with this product. I found that my walls were noticeably cooler after applying the coating. My 1st control was an un painted area which was too hot to hold a hand to after sitting in the sun all day, 2nd control was bed liner with no Therma Cells and then I had the area I applied it to. The second area was about 4 degrees cooler than the first but still noticeably hot to the touch. The Therma Cell area was only another 2 degrees cooler than the second, but it was not warm to the touch. My conclusion is that it seems like Thermacells are very effective at lowering the HEAT CAPACITY of a coated material, but not necessarily it's actual temperature. This means that thermacells will make the coated area a poor condutor of heat to the air around it, but won't necessarily work wonders on the actual temperature of the material itself. I'd definitely purchase this again as it seemed to cut down radient heat and touch-surface's (perceived, not really actual) temperatures noticeably.

A must have been painting your homes exterior
I researched the living daylights out of this product so I knew exactly what we were getting into. The only trouble that we had was trying to find a professional painter that would agree to mix it with the paint and apply it to our home. Big strike out. We found a handyman That took no issue. He mixed it with the paint that we purchased according to the directions. We did have to buy him a new nozzle because the product did wear his nozzle down significantly. It does not look any different than if we painted without the product however it reflects/rejects/bounces back heat that would normally come from our hot Arizona sun. We purchased enough to mix with the primer that was first applied, and then mixed again the recommended amount with the paint that went over the primer. It looks truly amazing and does not provide any indication that there is anything in the paint. That really mattered because I didn’t want our home to be sparkly or have some weird additive looking effect. It just simply looks professionally beautifully painted by the handyman that did the work. I helped him throughout much of the process. I highly recommend this product. It is like having a secret barrier or shield over your home.

about 10 -15 degree drop
This stuff does help. I have a block wall which faces west in phoenix az. I tested several areas one with white paint, one white with additive and one the medium brown of the original house color. Original house was 148 degrees plus the white alone dropped temp 20 degrees and finally the white with one coat of additive dropped temp by 30 degrees . at 10 to 15 extra dollars per gallon I figure here in the hottest city in the country its gonna be well worth the money even if its on 10 - 15 degrees. With our insane heat and an uninsulated block wall every bit helps!

This Product Works!
I live in South Florida and have a Florida room with a flat roof. Over the years, we have attempted to make this room more efficient thermally and acoustically. We had a thick 3M heat reflective security film added to the windows, which wrap around the whole room. That helped a lot. We then added a new wall mounted AC unit and that helped cool the room more efficiently. A few years ago, we had the roof painted with Black Jack® ETERNA-KOTE® 100% Silicone Roof Coating. Again, that helped. But this room is still warmer than the main part of the house, so when we decided to paint the flat roof again with the Black Jack® ETERNA-KOTE, I had the 2 gallon size Hy-Tech ThermaCels paint additive and decided to add it to the paint even though it was 5 gallons of paint. The Hy-Tech additive still helped lower the heat coming through the flat roof, but what amazed me is the fact that we had a few major downpours and we can barely hear the rain through the roof. I am so impressed that I am tempted to get another 5 gallons of the Black Jack® ETERNA-KOTE and add the proper amount of Hy-Tech additive to it. We will be getting our home painted when rainy season is over and I will be adding Hy-Tech's product to all of my exterior paint. In fact, we decided to go ahead and paint the exterior of the Florida room, so I will be adding the Hy-Tech to that and after, I will add another review. Really impressed with Hy-Tech's product!

Snake Oil Folks! You’ve been warned!
I really wanted this product to work. Saw the reviews of the nice lady with the IR gun shooting her metal panel wall with nearly a 20+ deg swing. I couldn’t believe it. My intent was to use this product mixed with two gallons of your basic Glidden interior satin paint to paint the metal structural support beams of my metal building before hanging OSB on the walls and prevent, or at least mitigate radiant heat transfer. To my surprise, and still not even sure how it’s possible… the bare metal with the sun pounding on it from the outside of COOLER than the painted portions of this product. How is that even possible? Yes, it was the two gallon kit, it was mixed with a speed paddle, and rolled on. It does have a suede/sandy like texture. It’s one thing for a product not to work as intended, it’s completely something else when they make the situation worse than the intended goal. This cost plus the $50 worth of paint.. all in the trash! ABSOLUTE SNAKE OIL! I would love to hear from the seller and their commentary on these results.

Beware of application techniques
Ok... I have mixed feelings about this product. One the plus side, it works. We used it on the roof of our school bus to RV remodel and there is a noticeable difference in temperature inside. On the negative side, we sprayed it on like we spray painted the whole bus. The problem is that regular paint mist/over spray floats off into the air where is paint mixed this product goes all over your project. If it's the rest of your roof, fine. But in our case it was the hood and sides of our bus. I had asked a question about this product and was advised about it having a suede like texture (it doesn't, suede is soft. This is like sand paper. I'm not sure how we will wash our bus roof in the future, since everything snags on the texture) which is why we didn't use it on the whole body. Unfortunately, it is on the body of the vehicle, just not uniformly like the roof. It looks more like dirty areas in our paint job, or the gloss is missing from the texture. Another negative is paint gun clean up. It is impossible to get all the ceramic "micro beads" out of your paint gun. I ended up buying a new paint gun because I didn't want to risk adding any more texture to the finish areas the were supposed to have none. Ultimately, I would use the product again, but with a roller or cover the whole project and protect it from over spray. I think in this case it's less about the product itself and more about the developer/manufacturer not providing adequate/accurate application information.
