Bosch GAL18V6-80 18V 6-Bay Fast Battery Charger

This is a great charger if you like to put all of your batteries away at the end of the day. It is super convenient, and works as advertised. You drop the battery on it, and it optimally charges it, rotating around the carousel as needed. One convenient feature is the ability to drop a battery on it that doesn't have a "charge remaining" button, and instantly see how much charge is left using the five LEDs on each slot. That really takes the guesswork out of battery capacity.

I'm not sure why I hadn't purchased this before. I have a small army of Bosch 18v tools and many batteries. I'm a home improvement enthusiast and love projects around the house, but I'm not a pro and don't do this for a living. I usually just swap batteries as I used them up and then recharge them later, swapping them in and out of a few chargers I have on a bench. Inevitably I forget to keep up on it and end up having to wrap up the next day (or later). This last month I was working on a large project where I had 5 or 6 tools active at once. I had this charger plugged in and just dropped in the batteries I as used them up, then would grab a fully charged one back out as needed. I never need to even think about charging. This charger works by doing a round-robin charge cycle, so it starts the first battery and brings it to about 80% (I think, less than 100%), then moves onto the next, etc. Then it will cycle back and finish the charge to 100% as they sit there. Each slot has a button where you can specify to charge that specific battery. It does NOT charge them all at once, but that's fine. I also like how the cord wraps up around the handle. It makes storing super-easy. And, it's reasonably priced - if you ever need to charge more than 2 or 3 batteries in a day, just get this. It makes it so much easier.

Great for keeping your Bosch batteries charged. The dream would be if it was a battery itself, though, that could charge all the batteries without having to plug it into anything.

On the jobsite, this is great to consolidate all my batteries in one place.

For those with Bosch tools and more than a couple of batteries, this is a great addition to your toolbox. It portable and not only compatible with many generations of Bosch18v batteries but also compatible with AMPShare batteries which is a battery technology shared with numerous other companies. The charger will cycle around all six battery ports and do an initial quick charge to 80% which helps to keep you working. It will then cycle around again to charge all batteries to 100%. It does this one battery at a time, not simultaneously. The charger also allows selection of any of the six ports for charging prioritization. It allows has indicator lights so you know how much power each battery has (each of the 5 lights per port indicate 20% increments of capacity). I appreciate that I can place my 6, 18v batteries to charge and leave the charger to do it’s work then come back after a few hours and everything is charged. I used to have to monitor and charge each individual one at a time. This charger can tackle them all and does not get hot. As with any charger, don’t leave the batteries in them for storage and don’t charge them to 100% if you are not planning to use the batteries for a while. This will help extend the life of your batteries.

Saves me so much time

I was really hesitant towards this product being that only charged One battery at a time, but apparently it's got one heck of a charger on it, as a Charged each battery quite quickly regardless of the size. I wish I gave this charger a shot sooner

This was on my want list for a while but after I fried 2 chargers in one day and a third a few weeks prior, it moved up to a need. Wish I would have bought it sooner. If youre a contractor like me or use any high drain tools regularly, you gotta get one. Not only does it sequentially charge 6 batteries but does so at 8Amps. Nothing else needs to be said.

This Bosch battery charger model GAL18V6-80 works really well the charge 18v Bosch batteries and great for storage and carry-on on the job site. In the pictures looks a lot bigger but in reality is very compact 12”L x 8 1/4”D x 9”H. I like the shape of it, the charging cable that can be wrapped around the handle, it’s light weight and the visual LED lights that show charging level progress. It doesn’t charge all batteries at the same time, but it alternates between them automatically when one battery is charged it goes to next one and so on. I have used it charge 18V type 1.5Ah, 2.0Ah, 4.0 Ah and 8.0 Ah Core batteries with no issues. Charging times are reasonable fast for 8Ah CORE at 100% is 70 min. And for older standard 4Ah battery at 100% in 40 min. Im not sure if it can charge 12Ah CORE batteries, no mention of it in the user manual. Couple small things to mention that could be improved is to add rubber feet at the bottom so the charger doesn’t slide around and for the handle it could be retractable so it’s even more compact. Overall, I think this charger is at good value, good quality and safety futures, is a great addition to my Bosch collection and find it very useful. I hope they will come with same thing for 12V batteries or a combination of both. Thanks

This charger has so many good features: - six bays - easy to pack and move around, cord wraps around handle - sequential fast charging of each battery up to 80% - then sequential slow charging of each battery up to 100% - 5 segment LED display for each battery, so you can accurately see the state of charge - because the fast-charging sequence stops at 80%, I can easily charge the batteries to 80% level before putting them away for storage. (Li-ion batteries last much longer if you store them at 80% charge rather than 100% charge – suppresses dendritic electrode growth.) This is my favourite feature – very good for battery health. - works with older and newer generation Bosch batteries Highly recommend for anyone who has multiple Bosch 18V tools.

The thing charges 6x 18v batteries Only thing that would have been nice would be a couple 12v charger slots for the 12v batteries. The thing is amazing, quicker charging, has the 80% charge feature which is slick! Keep those lithiums going and going!

Love having all my batteries in one spot and having them fully charged when i need them. Wish it was wall mountable. Other than that it’s great!
