what's the difference between these and their older version?

They may “look” like the older version, however, the new version is of a much lesser quality. The sizing is different, the materials are different, and the bottom of the sandal is no longer the non slip rubber of prior years. For example: The new size 13 is 3/4” shorter in length and is 1/4”narrower. FYI: Reef was bought out in 2018. This is precisely when quality dropped and they thought nobody would notice other than their share holders!

Is this for one sandal or a pair of sandals?

You actually end up recieving 3 sandals. When you buy a pair, they include a free ambidextrous sandal. If you lose one then the extra will fit either foot. Talk about forward thinking! Just WOW!

How long is size 11? Hubby needs a new pair, but can't remember what size he has.

I’d suggest buying at least 1-size larger than your shoe size. If you have flat/wide feet you might even need to go up two full sizes. Around 2018 Reef was bought out and it appears that size adjustments were made. For example, a size 13 is now 1/4” narrower and 3/4” shorter in length than they were 4+ years ago! I thought either Amazon sent the wrong size or that I had ordered the wrong size…nope! Invoice, stickers and labels all indicate a size 13.

Will these fly off my feet? Will I have to grip them with my toes every time I take a step?

I can't honestly answer this as I have opposable big toes. My toes naturally grip these bad boys like a monkey foot grips a vine while climbing. A grown man couldn't pry these things off my feet with both hands and a crowbar.
