Waterproofs Like a Dream and Sprays Like a Cloud
Outstanding Waterproof Spray – Gentle, Odorless, and Amazingly Effective I bought this spray to waterproof the fabric back, headrest, and seat of my power wheelchair, and I couldn’t be more impressed. I removed all the cloth components and applied the spray indoors—no odor whatsoever, which was a huge bonus for me. I applied a thorough, even coat and let everything dry overnight. The next day, I tested the fabric by spraying it with water and it beaded up instantly—like water off a duck’s back. I went a step further and dropped ketchup on a discreet spot to see if it would repel thicker liquids. Not only did it bead up and roll off, but a quick rinse and wipe left the spot looking spotless. Absolutely no staining or residue. It worked so well that I used it on my white canvas bag that carries my portable oxygen unit. Same amazing result: water and messes roll right off. I was also surprised by how little product it took—the mist is super fine and covers efficiently, so a single bottle goes a long way. The spray nozzle is also worth mentioning—it’s smooth, doesn’t require a lot of hand strength, and never clogged once during use. This is hands-down one of the most effective and gentle waterproofing sprays I’ve ever tried. I’ll absolutely repurchase when I run low. If you’re looking for a safe, indoor-friendly, biodegradable spray that actually works, this is it.

Works!
If you think youre going to get a water tight shoe/backpack, etc using this, youre wrong. If you think you're getting a better water resistant item using this and your item not be ruined by water like it usually would be, then this is your product. BE OUTSIDE TO APPLY! AND TO LET DRY! This stuff stinks. If you want to live with the support of an iron lung for the rest of your life and have your family hate you, then by all means, spray it inside, otherwise go outside. Works best if you do 3 coats, letting it dry atleast 15 minutes between coats. We used it on shoes, re-doing the weatherproofing on backpacks after washing them, on designer purses and it works great of helping rain shed off. Again, we aren't sticking our feet in pools or swimming with backpacks or even standing outside in a Texas thunderstorm, but walking in the rain under an umbrella with the wind whipping around, youre still going to get wet and this stuff helps.

Excellent for Suede, Limited for Other Materials
I tested this Spray on several materials, and the results were mixed—but very clear in terms of where this product shines. On suede, this spray works extremely well. I applied two coats, allowing proper drying time between applications, and the water repellency was excellent. Water beaded right off, and the suede’s texture and color were not negatively affected. For suede shoes or boots, this product is a definite winner. However, performance drops off significantly with more absorbent fabrics. I tried it on denim pants and applied three coats, but the material continued to absorb water. The spray didn’t create a protective barrier, likely due to how absorbent denim is. I had a similar experience with canvas after two coats, water still soaked through rather than beading on the surface. ✅ Pros • Outstanding waterproofing for suede • Easy to apply • Doesn’t stiffen or visibly alter suede • Strong water beading after proper application ❌ Cons • Ineffective on denim and canvas • Not a one‑solution‑fits‑all spray for fabrics

Mild Improvement, but still got wet.
Used at least half on a single older Kuhl rain jacket, applied multiple layers following the directions and I did see some improvement but overall did not work as well as when it was newer.

This stuff is great!!
This stuff works best when used within say 10 days of using the footware - after that, the effect seems to wear off. So why a 5-star review? Soooo easy to use - just strip off your boot laces and load this stuff on the unlaced boot. (Pack it in the area around the boot-tongue interface.) I did not follow instructions - I held the spray head close to the boot and loaded on the spray. I did not notice any change in coloration of my boot - maybe a bit darker for a day or two, but that's it. (After all- they're hiking boots! So who cares if they're a bit darker after applying the spray.) One can of spray seems to be good for about 6 applications on over-the-ankle hiking boots (so maybe 4 applications for 10 inch-high boots). So one can is probably good for a season for one pair of boots. But load this stuff on where it counts - around the area where sole and boot meet, around the toe box, and around the area where the laces are over the tongue of the boot. One word of caution: APPLY THIS STUFF OUTDOOORS! And try to stay upwind of the spray. (The propellant did not agree with my lungs.) As for effectiveness, snow and water just rolled off of my boots after using this stuff. Like I said, it lasts about 10 days, but oh-what those ten days are! Better'n Gore-Tex! I used it on Ultra-suede-type leather, and that's probably where it does best. And speaking of Gore-Tex, I used this on boots with Gore-Tex liners and it did not in any way compromise the Gore-Tex - so no worries about mucking-up your Gore-Tex boots by using this product. There are lots of water repellants for honest-to-gosh cow-hide leather boots, but very few that work with Ultra-suede-type boots having Gore-Tex liners - this product is probably the best for that type of use, and as said before - sooo easy to use!

Why don’t they do it in a kit, everything you need for leather/suede care. Expensive buying individually.
