Finally bought another Denman brush after our 15 or 20 year old Denman brush started losing its bristles. I really like the feel and efficiency of Denman brushes and won’t even consider buying another brand. The plastic is not as smooth as my previous brush - perhaps intentional for a better grip - but the brush does its job and brushes out tangles easily and painlessly.

This is my second Denman brush and it is amazing. The first one I lost it and decided I had to get another one. If you want to define your curls, it will do the job. I have 3c medium to long fine hair and it works smoothly through, no tangles. If you have thick hair you can also remove a row or two of the pins. Easy to clean and will give you well defined curls. This brush works really well for defining curls. It glides through the hair easily and helps create smooth, defined sections without too much breakage. Definitely a good brush if you want more defined, neat curls.

I have 2c/3a hair, medium to long length, and live in south central US where there is fairly high humidity most of the year. It's taken me a few years of getting used to skipping daily washes and minimizing my blow dryer use, partly b/c I never really knew how to style my hair on air dry days. I'd end up with a frizzy A-frame shaped do, or a lifeless, gel-crusted mop. I tried this brush after seeing it on a master class about hair. The woman with 3c used it to brush through small, damp sections of hair, then twist the section around her finger, let it loose, and then onto the next section. I tried this method, leaving my hair pretty damp and using a good curl cream applied throughout. I used the brush to also go back and gently give some lift from the root once i kind of had it placed where i wanted. I used a light hair spray as I finished each layer of sections. I've been doing this style once or twice a week now for a couple of months. This brush has made the difference in my confidence working with my hair. Even in dead summer the frizz is minimal, my waves/curls keep their shape without necessity of crusty gel, and I have actual definition. Not only has it helped me style on air dry days, my day two style is easier to manage. I can use this to gently brush out the sections to give me a nice, soft wave without it immediately frizzing. If I brush it out the night before and put it up, it's even easier to deal with on day two. I don't exactly understand how the brush does what it does, but I'd absolutely recommend it for wavy hair folks that want to define and control. Besides liking the fact that it works, I like that the brush is light weight, seems pretty durable so far, and is at a good price point. The handle is comfortable and the bristle pad gives. Just a great brush all around.

To start off, I’d like to say that this brush is amazing. It has changed my hair completely and I use it in curly hair routine almost every single day. I have very thick, course hair that I have find trouble finding good products for, so I am happy that I found out about the Denman brush. The purpose of the Denman brush is to, “define curls, detangle, and smooth the hair,” and I can confirm that the description is accurate, and this brush successfully does what it’s supposed to do. This is gentle alternative of detangling curly hair than a regular paddle brush, which is a big NO for curly girls because paddle brushes can cause damage and breakage to already naturally dry curly hair. The Denman Brush has made it easy for me to get big knots out of my hair without causing split-ends. It also causes my hair to clump together and I love how defined my curls come out because of this brush. There are seven rows on the rubber pad and these rows can be removed to create bigger or smaller curl clumps depending on how many rows are kept in. I love that this brush creates such beautiful curls instead of stringy looking hair. I used to have trouble with my hair never clumping together and it would basically look like “Ramen Noodle” hair, but this brush solved this issue. The Denman brush also smoothens my hair and create a uniform sleek curl and prevents my hair to frizz up. The description also says that this brush is, “ideal for creating tight curls, root lift or for shorter hair,” and I’m happy to agree with this statement as well. My curls do look tighter and have more of a coil when I use this brush in a certain way. I’ve noticed that a lot of people don’t know how to use a Denman brush to create coils and will quickly give it a bad review, but there is a specific way to use it. To achieve coily curls, I brush my hair from underneath and start turning the brush to make a spiral. In other words, I coil my hair around the brush. It’s basically the same process as curling your hair with a flat iron. It also does cause my roots to be more voluminous and prevents my hair from becoming flat and sad. I highly recommend the Denman brush to every curly-headed girl out there because I strongly believe that I will become your best friend and make your curly hair routine way easier.

The Denman hair brush is the perfect hairbrush. I’m 51 years old have a thick head of very wavy hair And this yarn has seen a lot of hair brushes. Anyone who has thick, wavy hair will understand how unruly and frustrating it can be. Having any sort of styled haircut Is not possible unless your hair is (caked), full of hair products. I have a drawer full of all types of expensive hair styling products, conditioners and straighteners That claim magical results and nothing works . Historically the best way to tame my hair has been to have my hair buzzed as short as possible. The Denman hair brush has given my hair new life. All I have to do is brush my wet hair right after the shower and this allows my hair to flow through with ease. This brush honestly gives my thick, wavy hair and each of my coils and curls definition and style. When purchasing a hairbrush, my Barber let me in on their “secret weapon” And reach for their Denman hairbrush and demonstrated that I also had to consider how firm the pins/bristles are and pay attention to the spacing of the rows are far apart. Why? Nothing is worse than having your hairbrush scratch and cause pain to your scalp. This was some thing I was experiencing with a hairbrush that was wrong for my hair. And honestly I did not know there was a difference in brushes. Give me a brush with a brush. The Denman brush allows for a quick brushing without making me feel tender headed. Nothing is worse than that surprise “OUCH!” when you’re trying to move fast in the morning. The Pins are still far enough apart that it does the trick while allowing your hair to breathe for surprising fast drying power- that’s a huge bonus for us folks with thick wavy hair. Later he would tell me that it’s the only brush that he has found that actually works on his hair. So there’s the reason why I am buying a Denman brush. At a cost under of $20 everyone should own a Denman brush. A great selling point for people who may have a difficulty buying a hairbrush online, is that unlike all of those hair products that I bought that don’t work and will never be used, you can return this hairbrush If for any reason it’s not the one for you. I’ve never heard of being able to return a used hairbrush, but what a great option! I highly recommend this brush for everybody. I never ever thought in my life to be writing a review about a brush. At 69 I started losing my hair (female) so I switched from a soft brush to this one and things are greatly improving. Your scalp needs stimulation and this is a great brush for that!

Not sure there is much to say, as this brush is already famous for wet styling. As you’d expect, it’s a great product, the versatility is awesome - you can pull out rows of teeth depending on the result you want, and you can use it in various ways to style your curly hair. I love the lavender and pink color too, I find it nicer than the classic black and red. The only thing to note is that it’s really really difficult to put the rubber part back in if you take it out to remove rows of teeth or deep clean the brush

Fijne borstel die zorgt voor meer definitie! Netjes verpakt zonder overtollig plastic, waardoor je weinig afval hebt van de verpakking. Borstel ligt licht in de hand, beweegt soepel door het haar en is later nog te verstellen door er rijen met pinnen uit te halen.

Couldn't find this brush in Japan so getting it on Amazon was life changing! So happy they stock it. I kept on styling with a detangling brush but using a Denman is really a game changer- soooo much more definition! TYpe 3c curly girl from South Africa.
