This is the first mattress I have ever bought for my first apartment. The mattress box super clean and intact when delivered, and the delivery guy even rolled it directly into my apartment bedroom for me! My boyfriend helped me unbox it, it would have been a little hard to do alone because it was quite heavy. The 12 inch queen size mattress came folded over "hamburger style" then rolled up into the box and sealed in plastic. The mattress itself was very clean and luxurious looking. I had the mattress delivered the first day I had access into my apartment and did not lay on it until 72 hours later. The mattress immediately expanded 6 inches to a little over 8 inches while unboxing and unfolding. 3 days later, it was 10 inches tall on the sides. After sleeping on it for a month, it has expanded to 11 inches on the side and I believe it is the full 12 inches in the center. This is the comfiest mattress I have ever slept on in my life. Great sleep! I sleep alone most nights in the center of the bed, but when my boyfriend visited each side of the bed was great and he agreed it is super comfortable. I prefer mattresses on the firmer side, and this mattress delivers. I was worried it would sink in a lot but it does not! I think people who like softer mattresses would also be satisfied with this. The air conditioning unit in my apartment is in the living room, so it tends to be hot in my bedroom. This mattress did not cool me down for sleeping in my hot bedroom, but it certainly did not make it worse, which was also a concern of mine because I tend to be hot while sleeping. Not anymore! I am also usually a crazy sleeper, messing up my covers and pillows while I sleep. But on this mattress I sleep like a rock. I don't wake up with any pain, soreness, or stiffness. It is hard to get up in the morning because I want to keep laying in bed! I love this mattress and am loving this brand. I got a Zinus 14 inch bed frame and it goes great with it. I also am using a waterproof mattress pad I got from Kohls just to protect my brand new mattress investment. The standard queen mattress pad and queen size sheets fit on the mattress very well and don't slip around. I am very happy with this purchase! For being fresg out of college, starting a new job, moving to a new apartment, this budget mattress is a great choice. I don't normally write reviews but I need to honestly reinforce that this mattress is a purchase worth spending money on!

This is the second most comfortable mattress I've ever slept on. The first most comfortable cost me $3000 about 15 years ago. Before I got this mattress I was only sleeping a few hours a night due to the pain I was in due to the mattress I was sleeping on. I actually look forward to going to bed at night now and I'm waking up totally refreshed and the aches and pains are completely gone. I'm totally shocked that a $300 mattress could actually be this good of quality. My husband rarely dishes out a compliment but the day afer I first slept on my new mattress when he got home from work he said, Wow, you look refreshed, you don't have that tired look that you always have. That was nice of him but more importantly I felt refreshed. I'm a side sleeper due to a back injury and I've woken up a few times on my back on this mattress and amazingly my back wasn't hurting like it would have been on the other mattress I'd been sleeping on. I do have to say that I could smell the off gas for about a week and the mattress was making me feel hot but I took care of that problem by putting a down comforter on top of it. Every foam mattress or topper I've ever slept on makes me hot so it could just be me. I couldn't love this mattress more and so do my kids. So muchso that two of them are buying one. I let anybody who comes over lay on my new mattress so they can see what they can get for $300. Anybody who's laid on it is amazed and wants one. I bought another brand of a bed in a box before I bought this one for a lady I take care of and I won't mention brands but it does not compare as far as comfort and support go. It's even much lighter than this mattress. It's basically a flimsy piece of foam. This one is heavy and durable. The quality is obvious compared to the other one. I was worried when I ordered this mattress without trying it out first because I like a soft mattress but I need the firmness for the support. I am pleasantly surprised that this mattress is both. I'd already checked google and knew this was the brand I wanted but wasn't sure which style or thickness to get. I decided that if I wanted the sleeping on a cloud like feeling my best chances were with this one. I thought about getting the cooling mattress but figured that if the mattress was to hot I could do something but if it wasn't comfortable there wouldn't be my much I could do about it. I put a lot of research and thought into it before I bought this mattress and I'm glad I did. Ultimately I went with my gut feelings and got this one. Like I said I couldn't be more happy with my choice to buy this mattress. This is the only review I've ever written on a product or anything but to be honest I've never had $300 change my life so much and thought I should share.

We've bought 3 of this exact same mattress now. They seem to last ~2 years for us but we spend a lot of time in bed, sometimes we even sleep there. Nice to see they've changed to the straight white cover, the grey/white it was before looked fine without the sheets, but it showed through a bit. Opened it up immediately upon delivery and started the "expand" timer. Gave it ~48 hours and it came up to full height, same as the other 2. Virtually no smell, comfort is better than anything else out there. We've had friends over and they all seem to enjoy it too! 20 years ago we spent 6x the money on a "premium" latex foam mattress that felt great in the showroom and was supposed to last 25 years. The one they delivered was as hard as concrete - I wouldn't have lasted 25 years sleeping on that thing! Now we buy these, they're far, far more comfortable and we just replace them every couple of years when the top "comfort" layers of foam breakdown and you wake up in the morning on the hard-ish base foam. Even when we deem one "worn out" it's still more comfortable than that stupid expensive latex one. Would recommend - a good night's sleep is totally worth replacing these occasionally, especially if you can get them on sale.

The mattress exceeded my expectations in terms of quality, comfort, and ease of use at an affordable price. Even though the mattress only expanded to just over 11 inches instead of 12 inches, it is still incredibly comfortable and supportive. I use it as a single mattress on a bed frame, and I do not even have a box spring under it. The mattress seems to be well-made The memory foam provides just the right amount of support and comfort for a restful night's sleep. The cloud-like feeling of the mattress is soft yet supportive, The fact that it came compressed in a box made moving it into my home a breeze Overall, I would recommend the ZINUS 12 Inch Cloud Memory Foam Mattress in-a-Box to anyone who is looking for a comfortable, supportive, and easy-to-use mattress at an affordable price point. In my opinion, the mattress is medium firm.

I've had both this mattress (12inch) and the gel green tea mattress in the 6inch used as a mattress topper in the past. I ended up getting rid of my old mattresses as I had moved, and decided to purchase this one thinking it would be even more amazing than the green tea! I'm not someone that's picky when it comes to mattresses, however the cloud states that it's plush, and like a cloud but it is pretty firm... don't sink into it at all.. and also only reached 10inches and not 12. The gel green tea was more soft and deff more comfortable. Not sure if it's because of the height difference of the two, but would probably recommend using something on top of it as I do wake up with back pain, but nothing severe compared to sleeping on a futon.
