ALVABABY Baby Cloth Diaper 6 Pack with 12 Inserts One Size Cloth Diaper Covers Adjustable Washable Reusable for Baby Girls and Boys

It was a hard debate whether to give these 4 or 5 stars. I went with 5 stars because for the price, these are my favorite cloth diapers and will be my go-to diapers if I need to order more, but they are not what I would consider to be the best. Backstory: I cloth diapered my first child using a combination of BumGenius All-in-Ones, FuzziBunz Pocket Diapers (Seconds), and I had 2 BumGenius Freetimes. I bought a nice recommended, organic detergent to wash them in and in a short time, my baby had ammonia burns on his bottom. We have EXTREMELY hard water and they weren't getting clean enough. A google search gave me multiple sources recommending to use Tide Original Powder to wash them in and although it voided the warranties, to me using Tide was a no brainer when it came to ammonia burns on my baby's bottom. Additionally, we live in Northeast Ohio which made hanging diapers out to dry in the winter impossible. The BumGenius All-in-Ones (my favorites) took forever to line dry (especially indoors) which resulted in us having to tumble dry them on low. Between the Tide, the hard water, and putting them in the dryer, our diapers lasted 2 years. The PUL was peeling and efforts to re-waterproof them failed (see attached picture). When I was pregnant with my second child, I looked into new cloth diapers because the cost savings and environmental impact will always be worth it to me to cloth diaper. I didn't want to spend the roughly $20 per diaper for the BumGenius diapers, so with these averaging out to around $5 a diaper, I took a chance. I bought 3 packs of 6 - costing me roughly $90 and I have a great rotation of diapers and only have to wash them every few days. I've been using them for 6 months with my second born and I couldn't be happier!!! First of all, I've always struggled with the absorbency issue with cloth diapers (although, side note, I have had WAY less poop blowouts in cloth than when we use disposables when we're on trips away from home - another perk of cloth diapers!). No cloth diaper is as absorbent as a disposable so you need to be prepared to change diapers more frequently. BumGenius were my favorite because their PUL is folded over onto the waist tabs, along with the top edges on the front and back which is helpful in preventing leaks (see uploaded photos for comparisons). The snaps are FANTASTIC for sizing. I hated the drying time with the All-in-Ones - even out on the line they didn't dry as quickly. The Freetimes dried more quickly, but I didn't find them to be as absorbent. I thought I would hate stuffing the inserts into the FuzziBunz pockets, but stuffing wasn't bad at all. What I disliked about the Fuzzibunz is that you had to adjust the elastic on the leg holes and the waist to size the diapers. Ugh! It was a huge pain and I didn't feel they were as absorbent. So for the AlvaBaby Diapers to have the snaps for sizing and a GREAT price - I was sold. A major perk is that I can hang these diapers up in my dark, cold, below ground basement during winter in Northeast Ohio and they dry overnight - no more having to use the dryer which gives me hope that they may last longer than 2 years. I still wash them in Tide and I wash the shells in warm water, extra rinse, heavy soil setting and I wash the inserts separately - also in Tide, hot water, extra rinse, heavy soil setting. Leaks do happen with the AlvaBaby diapers. If you look at the uploaded pictures of the one on Baby, anywhere the white, inner lining is showing is a potential leak spot where it touches Baby's clothing. I really try to make sure that fleece lining is tucked inside the diaper, which helps to minimize leaking. Also, several of the AlvaBaby diapers have a velvety/velour type cover which is more prone to leaks than the more "plasticy" covers because they absorb moisture from the inside liner too (see the cow print cover vs. plain blue photo). The styles and colors available are really adorable and I've gotten a lot of compliments. Sorry for the lengthy review, but all in all, these are a GREAT value in cloth diapering and I would absolutely buy them again and recommend them to anyone.

All right, so I have been using cloth diapers since my son was born coming up on a year. I used newborn diapers for the first 2 months (Alva and Kawaii) and then I started using these. These were actually the very first pocket cloth diapers I ever got. These ended up being my favorite. They fit the best, I love the solid colors, and they are easy to customize. A note about inserts: Really, you are just getting these inserts for free. These two microfiber inserts may be enough for your baby up until s/he is 1 year old, but probably not. A term that is used around cloth diaper communities a lot is "heavy wetter". The problem with this term is it's ambiguous. So I'm going to try my best to explain absorbency. The two inserts that come with this diaper each hold about 4oz of liquid. My son outgrew this absorbancy by 3 months old. Standard flats hold 8oz. So if your child can't make it 2 hours on a standard flat, they won't make it on 2 microfiber inserts which will result in leaks. Once my son started to need more absorbency, I started stuffing his diapers with 1 microfiber and 1 Osocozy flat. That is what I've been putting in his diapers ever since. He has never had a leak. And that's why pockets are great. You can customize the absorbency. Also, I've never had a blow out with Alvababy diapers. Alvababy diapers also happen to be the diapers that fit my son the best. I have Blueberry, Grovia, Bestbottoms, Thirsties, and Mama Kalooa and I can't stand the way the snaps are on any of them. With that being said, around the time my son was 4 months, I decided I had found which diapers were my favorite and I put a bunch up. I only kept 18 out and have used those ever since. I wash my diapers every other day and with so little in rotating, they got washed a lot. Yet, they still look amazing! I hear so many people slamming Alvababy for quality, but I just haven't experienced that. I wash with Tide and Oxiclean and I put in the dryer on medium. I decided it was time to go to work and found a daycare that accepts cloth diapers. I realized with working that I might not want to stuff diapers every other night. I still plan on washing every other day but plan to do stuffing on Sundays. I decided I wanted to have enough that are preped Monday through Friday. When I was deciding on which brand to buy more of, it was a no-brainer. I chose Alvababy. I am obsessed with the solid color prints, so I decided to buy more of these and then I got some other colors from other websites. I now own 45 Alvababy diapers. You definitely don't need that many! But, for me I just wanted to have enough for the week for daycare. It would probably be easier to send flats/covers to daycare, but like most daycares, they require the whole diaper to be changed. Therefore, I highly recommend these to people. I have never had a single issue with any of my Alvababy diapers with almost a year of use. In my opinion, you are better off saving money on buying a cheaper shell and spending money on absorbency because absorbency is where most people run into issues with leaking. I don't find the PUL or snaps to be any better on expensive brands. Also, I love that I don't need to worry about daycare or another caregiver ruining an expensive diaper. If daycare loses one, it's not a big deal. However, if daycare lost a Ragababe diaper or another expensive diaper, it would be a big deal! If you do have issues, I highly recommend you contact Alvababy directly. I've never had to, but moms in some of the cloth diaper groups I'm part of contacted Alvababy directly. If you have a snap fall off, quality issues, or what not it's worth calling them. The moms who did have to call, got replacements sent. I know it will be hard to see in the pic, but I’m trying to show how well these held up with everyday use for 9 months.

So we bought these diapers on March 30th! They come with 2 microfiber inserts and they are super easy to put into the diaper itself! I will say, my boy did have kind of a problem with peeing and getting the diaper wet on the outside by the crotch area (but it’s definitely my fault because I didn’t change him as often as 2-3 hours (2 hours is my best recommendation). We use the Cloth Alva Baby diapers when we are at home or going to the store and running around a little bit. If we go to Disney or if we go to Busch gardens we’ll use the disposables because they are better for long term use! If he’s sweaty and it’s about the time to change him I will say his skin does get irritated a bit but it’s not HORRIBLE, because once again, it’s because I need to change him. I let it air out and then he’s good to go and the irritation goes away. It’s never left a rash! It absorbs a GREAT AMOUNT of pee and still leaves a little to leave the skin wet so he feels uncomfortable and lets me know it’s time to change him (my son is 11 months and we’re potty training soon). The styles are SO CUTE SO HE ALWAYS LOOKS STYLISH AND sometimes we just leave him in the diaper because they look like bottoms anyways lol. He’s been walking since we’ve bought these (before then; around 8 months).

I have three sets of these diapers. After I put my son in his nighttime diaper and get him to bed, I put the dirty diapers from the day in the washing machine and let it run. Doing these at night instead of first thing in the morning has been a game-changer because I do run a long cycle to make sure they get nice and clean. Now the washing machine isn't being tied up with diapers for so much of the day every day. (wash routine at end of review for those interested) Each diaper gets used and washed at least every other day and they have held up really well. The fabric lining of the shells is pilling somewhat and that started on many of them after first use and wash. One or two of the liners has a small tear on one end, again after a use or two. I chalk the tears up to quality control on the liners and the pilling to the cheaper fabric. However, overall these are holding up really well to wear and tear, especially given the price point. Even when the liner is saturated through, no leaks. Even if he poops with velocity and it sprays up the back. One of the tricks to this is definitely snapping the waist tight enough. The looser the waist, the looser the legholes, and the legholes are where you're most likely to get leaks. Snap it tighter than you might think you want to. I started using these on my son a couple of weeks after he was born, so I can't say how they do on a brand new baby but they do definitely work with newborns. They looked pretty big and bulky on him at first, but he grew into them quickly. At 9 weeks old and 13 pounds (he's big!), we're still snapping them down to make them short enough to fit him. So I would definitely order the newborn set or do prefolds or disposables if you have small babies. That being said, these should definitely last him through his diaper-wearing time. These are a good value, especially compared to higher-cost brands. You can get a slightly better price for this brand on the Alvababy website and there are a lot more print/color options, so if you want cute diapers, I would look there. I'm the kind of person who always has my baby fully dressed, so solids in a few colors were fine with me. Plus, I started with one set to see how they did and as soon as I realized I liked them wanted more, so I didn't want to wait for 2-4 week shipping from their website. If you're ordering ahead of time or have a big stash, again the website will give me more options and value. There's not a big enough price difference though that I regretted purchasing here, especially with Prime shipping. Considering they come with two liners per diaper and other brands do one, theyre a better value than most other brands on Amazon. I usually do one liner during the day and two liners at night so i dont have to change him unless he poops overnight. For reference since I know a lot of people struggle with figuring out how to wash their cloth diapers, here's what has worked for me (LG front loading washing machine): On the machine, I select pre-rinse, heavy-duty, and extra rinse. I put a pump of Puracy Free & Clear laundry detergent in the detergent slot, a good splash of white vinegar is the fabric softener slot, and a scoop of oxygen booster (Nellie's or Molly's, also ordered from Amazon) in the drum. I hang dry the outer shells and run the liners and cloth wipes (I'm using Grovia) on low heat for 60 minutes. No problems with loss of absorbency or build-up after two months of daily use.

We are new to cloth diapering, and I am very happy with my purchase. These ALVA Baby cloth diapers are not only cute, but they are sturdy and fit my 17 month old very well. I appreciate that they came with 2 liners per diaper so you can double up for extra absorbance. I also like that the sizes are versatile, so you can size up or down depending on the size of your baby. I’d buy these again.

Just recently started cloth diapering and the ONLY disappointment I have is I did not find these diapers earlier!!!! I LOVE THEM! Easy to wash, good quality, soft but yet durable. I also LOVE the price. It can not be beat for cloth diapers. I was always pushed away from cloth diapering because of the cost of some of them that cost $15-$20 per diaper I couldn’t afford that - but this Alvababy makes cloth diapering affordable and adorable. I hang dry all of mine and they dry really quickly, when I can’t hang them out I hang them in front of a fan or just where I do the rest of my clothes and they dry nicely and quickly. I think you might be able to put them in the dryer but I have chosen not too a) simply don’t need too I plan on having 12 maybe 18 diapers for my child b) I personally feel that they will last me longer not going thru the dryer (I would choose this method of drying with any brand of cloth diaper I would have) I loved these diapers so much I ordered some more and because I only had 6 to begin with!!! I only got the plain colored ones - mainly because they were the cheapest and I don’t care about what the diaper looks like just that it works and these do. Other perk is that you end up saving a ton of money and helping the environment! I only got 6 to start out with figured I wasn’t out much if it was a fail- but purchasing Alvababy was the best decision I could have made to start cloth diapering; I’ve thought about venturing out but after finding something for this price that works why spend more? I have never been happier diapering and getting to pick what color diaper is going to be used next. Thank you Alvababy this is a great product! UPDATE AFTER USING THESE FOR ALMOST A YEAR.... I was hang drying these every day to every other day. Well it became winter and they were taking longer to dry and had to set up fans etc. On accident one diaper and insert went thru the dryer. They were both fine. I have been running these thru my dryer on high heat for 70 minutes almost every day - to every other day. The diapers hold together just as well as they ever did + they are washed and dried and put back on the changing table in less time! Game changer! Run them thru the wash then run them thru the dryer and you are back in business! These diapers are TOUGH!

While I can’t say I relish the task of dealing with any diaper, these cloth diapers aren’t any less pleasurable than a disposable. We’ve been using this for several months now and they are easy to adjust to fit a growing baby and move well with her as she roams around her world exploring. When she was first born at 7lbs these didn’t fit well and leaked, but we tried again once she hit about 3 months these worked a lot better. We also finally felt we had this “baby-thing” figure out enough to make the switch as cloth are more work. We use a bamboo liner to catch the solids and that makes clean up a lot easier now that her stools are more solid. The breastfeeding poos weren’t any easier with a liner. We’re also country bumpkins so the really messy ones we hose off outside. We do still use disposable diapers during naps and overnight as she is a tummy sleeper and pees a lot in her sleep and it does tend to overrun the cloth diaper with just one insert. I haven’t tried two inserts but that might work for naps, but it makes such a mound we don’t think she’s as comfortable. She has no problem with diaper rash using these and she does with some disposable diapers. I like that they’re bright solid colors and match a lot of her clothing. She does occasionally have leaks but she does in disposables too so no difference to me. Trying to do our part to minimize waste and these are one small thing we can do! I own 2 sets of 6 (12 total) and that’s enough for us as I tend to use 4 a day and wash laundry every other day anyway. I haven’t tried any other brands but are no reason to as these work well for us! I did make the mistake of using a diaper cream with one of these and it leaves stains so if your baby gets a rash make sure you use disposables to prevent the zinc from staining.

I’ve had these for almost 4 years, so it’s probably time to write a review. I’ve had these and MomaKoalas, and these are the best hands down. I liked both brands with my son but MomaKoalas have been a poor fit for my daughter who has chunky thighs. Somehow they leave gaps everywhere. Alvas seem to fit any baby no matter the size and shape of legs. I’ve used them for my skinny legs son and my chunky legs daughter and they’ve been great. I wouldn’t use them for babies under 10lbs probably but anything above that goes. My friend who’s also used hers for two babies with very different legs has loved Alvas and used them exclusively for both girls preferring them over much pricier brands that she was gifted or bought second hand. I’ve had this set for about a year with my daughter, and I’ve been reusing an older set for my daughter as well that I’ve kept from my son. The older set looks just like new on the outside. I’ve washed it in cold water with my son and in hot with my daughter and have dried the covers in the dryer on delicate and they are just like new without any damage to the PPU. The older ones are a bit grey on the inside but it doesn’t hurt the performance. All snaps are still in place. The covers could easily stand a few more babies. The inserts do start stinking and require hot water and stripping, and I actually threw away all inserts from my son and replaced with a new set for my daughter. These are definitely the best diapers on the market and outperform in my opinion (as well as in the opinion of my friend who has probably seen them all) most high end diapers on the market. They cost very little, especially if you buy them in bulk from Alva’s website. They last forever, and PPU covers will easily work for all your babies no matter how many you decide to have. They have some of the cutest patterns on the market and look great on those fluffy butts. They fit well around all types and sizes of baby legs. It’s very unlikely that you’ll regret buying Alva’s for your baby, unless you decide that cloth is not the right fit for you.

We absolutely love these diapers. We’ve been using Bambino Mio AIO diapers since our baby was one month old. Now he’s almost six months old, and we needed more diapers to wash them every 2-3 days instead of every day. We decided to try Alva baby diapers because of the good reviews and price (1/3 of the price of Bambino Mio's diapers). What we like: 1) They fit perfectly well. There are so many snap options that you cannot go wrong with the fitting. 2) They don’t leak! Bambino Mio AIO diapers keep leaking pee all the time. 3) They are also easy to wash. What we don’t like much: 1) The extra work to assemble them compared to other AIO diapers. 2) They are slightly bigger too so some onesies snaps keep opening and you can feel/see there’s something underneath the baby’s clothes. 3) The fabric is also not as soft as other diapers. My advice is don’t spend lots of money in very expensive diapers. Alva baby diapers are all you need.
