They are just frequency bands for the wireless system. Can I add more microphones to this system or will it work with just one?

This is a single unit system and can only have 1 transmitter (handheld microphone or body pack) active at a time per receiver. If you would like to have 2 active at the same time, there is also the dual unit systems called BLX288/PG58, BLX188/CVL, BLX1288/P31, BLX1288/CVL.If you would like to run multiple systems at the same time, that is possible, but I would recommend checking available frequencies for your area to ensure you will not have interference or drop out issues when running multiple units: http://www.shure.com/americas/support/tools/wireless-frequency-finder

El transmisor es el mismo microfono, El receptor es la cajita negra que manda la señal por cable al mixer. No necesita comprar nada mas. SI acaso, solo cable espiga de 1/4 cable xlr
