Skar Audio TX65 6.5" 200W 2-Way Elite Coaxial Car Speakers, Pair

I’d like to start off by saying these are excellent. I ordered 2 pair for my scion tc. In my situation, I had to customize my mounting brackets to get them to fit, but that’s just how my 05 scion tc’s set up was. I’m sure they fit most other setups easily though. I’m used to customizing various automotive things, so it wasn’t a big deal. I initially ran these 6.5in speakers through a 240w aftermarket headunit. Most head units like these only put out around 25rms per channel. These speakers are 100rms. It worked, and sounded ok, but technically they were only getting about a quarter of their potential. I hooked all 4 speakers plus 2 skar tweeters (80rms each) to a 4 channel amp that does 80rms @ 4ohms, and the difference was night and day. I’ve seen people commenting it’s much better when you amp a good door speaker, but never thought I’d want to go through the effort. Let me tell everybody here something…amp these speakers. Whatever work you have to do…do it. If it takes you 4 hours to do it…make that move. It will be the best audio decision you’ve ever made because they sound glorious when amplified. My car now has a mid bass punch that I’ve never experienced before, and will stab your ears in the highs. I recommend spending the $30 on the scar tweeters to pair with a set of these. Don’t live your life being content with just running these not amp’d. Yes they work like that, but nothing compared to the crystal clear loudness you’ll get amp’d.

Forst time using Skar audio, amazing bang for the buck.

These (6.5'') speakers are better than Skar gets credit for. Installed 2 pair in an older ext-cab truck with a Sony amp. I got way more from upgrading the fronts vs the rear, keep that in mind if you have a similar situation. In my case every thing fit together well with small modification to the mounts and wiring. Despite not being a replacement for a sub, which skar would happily sell you, these get a decent amount of bass in there. While 200 watts is probably a lie, 25w/ speaker at full blast hasn't hurt them. The sound quality is better than I expected especially the trebles, not hi-fi but good for car audio. There might be better speakers at this price, but I would definitely buy more if the necessity arose.

These speakers were the only ones to fit perfectly in a pair of truck boxes that I had recently purchased from Amazon. Not all speakers are the same, so it's very important that you know the sizes. Sound is excellent, with no loss or distortion at higher levels. Skar Audio quality in the way they are made, so you know it's going to be excellent. All in all, I have nothing but high praise for this set and will most definitely buy more products in the future.

Definitely impressed with the sound these speakers put out. I just got the front two for the door but about to order the same speakers for the rear doors as well. More bang for the buck is all that comes to mind. I definitely recommend!!

Great sound, have them in my 04 jeep tj in the overhead sound bar, plenty loud and great bass and highs. Highly recommend for the jeep crowd, I'm only pushing about 50 watt per channel on a 4 channel system.

Seem to be well made, good coating on frame. Bigger magnets and more bass than Kicker DS 6.5". I like that it has more than the usual 4 mounting holes, was able to mount "level". Plenty loud and no distortion with 50RMS.

I installed these to replace the door speakers in my 2016 Honda Civic EX-T. The front speakers are stock tweeters in the a-pillar and then the Skar speakers both working together. All the frequencies are covered now, especially the high end. The low end going through them is handled very nicely. The whole system sounds complete now. I will be buying another set to replace the rear speakers next. I can hardly wait till the break in period is over. Well done Skar!!
