Works well, deadens the sound to a fair extent. I did not notice the strong smell that is common with other boards. It is best used with solid punches, not tubular hole punchers. The white poly-pro boards are more solid and make a more finished cut on the back side. Both are basics, but are slightly different in use. A good product with less odor, glad I bought it.

Great quality, somehow it smells like cigarettes! Lol not terrible but the rubber has a smell.

Works like it should. It does smell like rubber, but who cares? The smell reminds me of a tire shop. Don't punch directly on the board. Be smart, lay a cutting mat down first. There is no country or origin listed on the packaging, so I assume its USA. For the price, this is probably the best poundo board you'll find. The only trouble I have, is with the name. The poundo board is not "silent". No poundo board is silent, it really depends on the surface below the board. This in mind, don't expect it to do much as far as cutting down on the noise of an already loud work surface.

works great. Saves your tool but doesn't really make anything quieter. It has a strong rubber smell, but it will dissipate completely after a few days. I recommend leaving it in a laundry room with the fan on or in the garage for the first few days before using it if you're using it inside.

Does the job but smells so bad. Straight out of the bag and it smells heavily of tobacco, like it was smoked in tobacco fumes for 10 years. 2 months later of airing it out while next to a window, still smells just as strong. Also it STAINED THE WOOD it was sitting on. Moved it to a plastic tray table for a few days and it started to stain that as well.

The first poundo pad i purchased was from that one Leather supply store EVERYONE knows about. Starts with a "T". It was alright, but also VERY expensive. Being a newer leather-worker, and having to figure out where to order leather, tools, hardware, and many other supplies was extremely overwhelming. I'm so happy I found Weaver Leather!! Again, being a newbie, I pretty much ended up severely damaging my original poundo board to the point it needed to be replaced by doing things I wasn't supposed to. Like using cheap round punches to punch corners on leather, thus causing huge gouges and cuts in the mat. Anyway, a year later, with a lot more know-how, and finding amazing companies like Weaver, I was able to find this board, and at almost half the price of my original one! I ordered 2 of these and couldn't be happier! It's an amazing product, and as far as I can tell, MUCH better than my old one. My chisels will remain safe when stamping, and I'll have plenty of shock absorption! This pad is a little bit stiffer than my old one, which is a GOOD thing, and I LOVE. Some have said it's "hard", I disagree. It's a little more stiff than the "T" poundo pad, but it's in such a good way. It's pliable, but so sturdy at the same time!I really wish I would have ordered this one in the first place, and that I had discovered Weaver sooner! I can't wait to place future orders with them. Their Master Tools?? I dream of those things. I want them ALL! Just need to start saving! I'm fully confident that everything I end up purchasing through them will be amazing.Thank you Weaver! Nice size and great for when you don't have access to a work bench or even if you have a bench and want to protect the edge of your cutting tools.
