How long do they stay fresh if not refrigerated? I have a few unopened from last year that have been in my desk.

I would open those outside then. It would probably be stinky when you open them since they have been refrigerated

What liquid is used to preserve these?

Not sure, but here is what I did... because I received the oysters a week before my event I placed them in the refrigerator to keep them from spoiling or getting a bad smell. No liquids were added. I simply place them in the refrigerator in their original package.

Are they all different shades color and are the different?

The colors will random and different as photo shown, shape almost round and about 5-8 mm. You know, these are natural pearls.

Is it 50 oysters or 50 pieces all together?

50 Oysters, all the Oysters are separate and in individual sealed plastic. Each Oyster has 1 pearl inside of it.

So fun!

Ordered 2 packages of 50 each for Christmas. My 13 year old loved opening them, and we all loved seeing what was coming out. They were pretty easy to open, which was good for our kids. Definitely not Epcot quality, but still fun. Do outside if you can, or at least crack a window and have a fan going, as they do smell strongly of formaldehyde. Out of the 100 we received, 1 didn’t have a pearl. In both bags, 13/50 oysters had a dark pearl in them. Will order again for sure!

Disappointed...

Im really sad at how bad the quality of these are. I've only opened 6 so far but all of the oysters shells are literally crumbling and the pearls are just bad. I hope this is a batch issue but if it isn't and this is the norm, I wouldn't recommend the product.

Pleasantly surprised

I have always wanted to open an oyster and find a pearl and when I saw this item I became very excited. Had to order it and have not regretted it. Have only opened about half of them but has several of each of the colors and I've made one necklace so far and plan on making other jewelry and gifts for people. These are absolutely stunning and I am very pleased with this purchase. Thought it would have a very fishy smell when I opened the first packet but it absolutely did not have a strong odor. Very small odor but very tolerable. Thanks again for this great item.
