Omega Pure Bristle 10049 Shaving Brush, Black

Just came in today and spent about 40 minutes between soaking and initial lathering/rinsing and mock lathering in the palm of my hand. The knot began to splay immediately after several rounds of this scenario. It looks as if I've had it for seeks rather than minutes. I also had to try face lathering and even as new this brush delivered a really good lather. I can't wait for the brush to blossom from repeated use. This Omega bests my badgers and even one silvertip I owned. Why? The (already) soft boar tips and bristles with medium backbone feel great and make short work of my stick shave soap. Yes, there is a little funky order, but this will pass with use and time. I have a Razorock brush stand that enables hanging it by the handle with the loft facing downward. Great brush--I've ordered a backup, same color. And I prefer the feel of Omega's boar bristles to Semogue's. The tips on the 10049 are not 'scritchy' and don't poke my skin like tiny needles--it's much more pleasurable to use than my Semogue brushes; and the Omega's backbone is not as stiff either. This is simply a comfortable brush that will break in quickly and it feels great on against my skin (I have sensitive skin and barf-wire like stubble. This brush is going to make wet shaving that much more pleasurable. Looking for an excellent razor? Check out the Bali BD176. It, too, is the culmination after decades of double-edge-razor purchases. The best of brushes and DE razors are the least costly items I've ever purchased for wet shaving. Delete Da Funk -- another method that works A quick way to rid the brush of fragrance of boar (aka, stench): place the brush in an empty mug; boil enough water to cover the brush's bristles (loft), but do not cover the edge of the handle that holds the knot; allow the brush to soak for about 30 minutes. Remove, rinse the brush in hot water, wring it out a bit, then use it to build up a lather of your favorite soap/cream. Rinse and allow to dry--be sure to hang it upside down. I read about a method similar to my variation. But were it not for the gent who posted about placing the brush in boiled water, I'd probably never have done the above. I originally bought this brush because I was needing to swap to a different shaving soap for my sensitive skin. I went with this one because of the reviews saying it was very well-made and would not fall apart. Not only do I agree but the Omega brush is amazing for the following reasons. Firstly, the build quality is great. The black Omega 10049 shaving brush has a 42mm wide plastic handle with 63mm tall boar bristles. This brush has served me for over 4 years now, and besides minor water damage to the Omega sticker on the handle, it looks brand new. The bristles on the brush have completely kept their original shape and hold. When I started using it the first week, only a few loose hairs came out, but soon after they immediately stopped. Now it only rarely ever sheds a hair about once a month. Secondly, the boar smell quickly disappears on this brush. The odor upon opening the brush from its packaging was strong. Still, just after a week and a half of using the brush to shave, it completely disappeared. I was amazed at how surprisingly quickly the smell disappeared compared to the other brushes I have used. I compare this with the brush I have now which is the rosewood boar bristle brush by Parker. I have been using that brush for more than a month now and can still smell the boar odor on it. Omega does carry a synthetic bristle brush, but the build is much lower compared to the boar bristle one. The third reason this brush is amazing is because of the lather it produces. With the 63mm tall bristles, lathering becomes effortless and only takes 8-10 seconds to completely foam up in my shaving mug. (Comparing this with the previously mentioned Parker boar brush which takes a solid minute for a good lather.) As for the actual lather, I have used this brush on Poraso’s shaving soap, Mitchell's wool fat shaving soap, and even a Dove’s sensitive bar of soap, yet none of these was any problem whatsoever for the Omega brush to create a rich foamy lather on. The big handle makes it extremely easy for stirring in a shaving mug compared to trying to stir up a lather with smaller shaving brushes. Finally, my last reason for why this brush is so amazing is the price point. With there being no quality badger brushes under 80 dollars and the average boar brush on amazon being around 20 dollars, this brush is a steal. Even comparing the other brushes that similarly sit around ten dollars you will not get the same amount of quality as this brush. It is truly the best bang for your buck. The only negative about this brush is that it does not come with its own stand. Luckily, this brush is easily compatible with the popular Perfecto Deluxe shaving stand that is also on amazon. Excellent quality, great foam forms from soap. The wide handle does present an issue with most shaving stands.

I brought this as a reintroduction to shaving with a shavette (cut throat razor), but really can be for any type of wet shave. The brush is the perfect pocket size to lather up the shaving soap and for application. Pros: . Low cost . Perfect size for a starter brush . No bristles loss . Excellent lathering ability . Timeless brand Cons: . Smell - the bristles smelled a bit weird when new, seems to have gone now . The bristles are a bit too soft at times - tip: when apply mouth, hold the bristles to flatten the shape and stiffen the brush. Highly recommended for any novice or veteran shavers alike. Perfectly paired with Proraso shaving soap for that traditional Italian shave.

Un bon gros blaireau en soies naturelles,donc moins doux que le blaireau ou le synthétique. Son manche de bonne taille assure une bonne prise en main et il produit une bonne mousse.Ne perd pas ses poils et n'a pas d'odeur.Au début ,on est un peu surpris par la rudesse des soies mais elles s'assouplissent au fil des utilisations.Très cote chez les barbiers italiens.

Dieser Schweinborstenpinsel ist der kleine Bruder vom Omega PROFESSIONAL Nr. 10098 und wesentlich besser zu händeln als der 10098 und trotzdem muss man nicht auf die schönen langen Borsten verzichten. Der Omegapinsel ist auch ideal für ,,Gesichtsaufschäumer" wie mich, die ihre Rasierseife großzügig direkt im Gesicht verteilen, weil ein weicher Dachs diese Seife nur unvollkommen aufschäumt. Pro: schöner vollkommener Pinsel. schöne lange Borsten gutes Händling durch einen nicht so großen Griff schöne weiche Borsten (nach ca. 5 Minuten Einweichzeit) gutes Preis- Leistungsverhältnis Contra: Griffteil ist hohl und hierdurch leicht Schweineborsten brechen häufiger als Dachshaare Firmenzeichen ist ein Aufkleber - schade eigentlich Würde ich den Pinsel wieder kaufen? Ja, er ist ideal für festere Seifen und zum Gesichtsaufschäumen von festen Seifen und Rasiercremes.
