3631 Heavy-Duty Logic Probe Tester , Red

Well I needed a good smart tester as I work on motorcycles for a living I already have one I paid $100 for 20 years ago I bought from the tool truck. I also repair bikes on the side and needed one for at home but didn't want to spend another $100 I needed one that could check for pulse like from the main and pick up coils & fuel injectors also it had to be safe for testing air bags and LED lighting systems as well it had to be cost effective This test light fit the bill and has bright green and red LED'S to indicate ground & positive it will indeed show pulse It works very well the price was right the point is really sharp and it's made by OTC. OTC is one of the makers who produce some other high end quality test equipment for the magor brands like MATCO & USA TOOLS I know this because they made the $100 one I bought 20 years ago off a MATCO truck and it still works great The only thing different between the 2 is the price and the $100 test light has another red LED to shows you have power going to the test light from the battery and this one do's not. But that's not a big deal. Very happy with my purchase

This OTC LED Noid light is very useful - but the alligator clips are absolutely junk. The vinyl boots are very stiff at any temperature below 60 degrees and are more of the quality I'd expect to find at Harbor Freight tools than OTC. The light itself works great and is plenty bright enough to use even during daylight. I would give it a 5 star except I need to cut off the cheapie alligator clips and solder on some high quality alligator clips.

I am a professional automotive technician and diagnostician. I am always trying to find cheap alternatives to snap-on and other expensive professional tool makers. I ordered one of these, it never worked out of the box. Didn't light up at all, 100% non-functional. I saw another review saying that the led's are really hard to see but otherwise this is a good product. How does that make sense? The LED's are the main component of this tool that would determine whether it even works or not. If you are struggling to see them, then this is not a very good tool. Working on customers cars 8-5 every day, an LED test light that doesn't light up is pretty useless. The plastic case, wires and alligator clamps are pretty good I guess, but the chip inside is noticeably cheap. In defense of the seller, they shipped me another one free of charge, and did not ask me to ship the bad one back to them. The second one seems to work fine, the LED's are bright and very visible. Judging by the other reviews and my personal experience, it is a gamble whether this product will work at all, but it is really cheap, and the seller is honest so it is worth trying, but don't get your hopes up.

Does what it's supposed to do. The lead is just long enough if you're working inside the cab of a truck or car, anything past the rear doors and you'll have to find another source for power and ground besides the battery. A little inconvenient having to have it hooked up to power for it to function but it's a very, very nice tester, couldn't be much happier with it.
