Such a great and comprehensive service

I was so impressed with the customer service I received. I received the kit on time and carried out the swab and sent it off. Unfortunately, my swab got stuck enroute and I reached out to Embark who helped me track it and they reached a decision to resend a kit at no cost. Kit arrived in no time and I sent it off. Embark informs you when the swab has arrived, swab extracted, etc. So at every stage you are notified which helps build up the excitement. I won't spoil the rest however the results were very interesting and what surprised me most was the accuracy and rhe detailed breakdown. They also share information of close relatives and the picture of my dog's sibling was a spitting image of her. Forgot to say the only information I provided was my dog's name and swab as I purposely did not share pics or her breed type so it was amazing that through science I was provided with mind blowing results. I definitely recommend this product.

Great product to identify your dog’s true breed even for pure breed dogs as there might be to 5-10% of another breed. I also added on the additional health tests and report on embarkvet.com which was very useful to learn more about my pet. Embarkvets customer service is also great my kit got shipped out in time and results back exactly as they promised 4-6 weeks after they received the kit. Regarding shipping with Amazon I did not experience any issues product came on time product was not out of date everything was smooth.

Speedy service, great outcome, very interesting to know not only breeds, but potential family relations, amongst other details they supply. Definitely recommend.

These teats results can take a very long time to be returned. I have been waiting for well over three weeks (23 working days) and my test has not even been acknowledged by Embark of being accepted. When you contact Embark, they just ask you to wait for the results. If you are thinking of buying this product - don’t. Check the Embark facebook page first to see what delays other customers are experiencing. Plus the swab is quite large , so tricky for smaller dogs 10 kilo and under.

Product took ages to get results back. Not worth the money. Much better, more accurate tests available.

I ordered this kit in September and when it arrived noted the kit expired in January 2022.

This was a fun and surprisingly informative test to run on our dog. The kit is easy to use — you just swab inside the dog’s cheek, seal the sample, and mail it back using the included packaging. The instructions were clear and the whole process only took a few minutes. After sending it in, you just wait for the results to show up online. The report breaks down the breeds in your dog and gives a pretty detailed look at the genetics and traits. It’s especially interesting if you have a mixed breed and have always wondered what they actually are. It does take a little time to get the results back, but the information you receive is pretty detailed once it’s ready. Overall it’s a cool product if you’re curious about your dog’s background.

I was super happy with the Embark Breed Identification kit! It was recommended to me by a co-worker to verify that my Spoodle was a true F1 Spoodle (with a full Poodle as one parent and a full Cocker Spaniel as the other). It isn't that we didn't believe the breeder, but it was good piece of mind to have as the dog ages. Sure enough, the dog came back as 50.1% Poodle and 49.9% Cocker Spaniel (with a stated margin of error of 0.01%, I'd say the results were pretty spot on). The service wasn't just blowing smoke...we entered our dog's information as a mixed breed, not specifically a Spoodle/Cockapoo, and these were the results we got. The test was easy to do and was non-invasive for the dog. The kit came with physical Canadian postage stamps to be able to post the sample from Canada to the lab in the USA. An e-mail came at every step of the way--from receipt of sample, to extraction, to analyzing results--and all said it took about three weeks to complete. In registering, I did so using my email and I was getting a lot of update and promotion spam from the company, which was a bit annoying, but nothing an "unsubscribe" click couldn't take care of. I'm a bit crestfallen that there isn't a similar service here in Canada that is just as affordable, just as accurate/trusted, just as speedy with a similar slick user interface that's easy to use. I would rather support a Canadian company but there just isn't something on this level here. I'd definitely use this service again...and plan to as we have adopted a second dog which is a mixed breed from Texas. I can't wait to find out HIS mixed-up genealogy using Embark!

I know a great deal of my dogs’ genetic make up/history already, down to which parents, grandparents and great grandparents consisted of which breeds on each side. (His mom was our dog, and I knew her parent dogs incredibly well & their genetic history, his dad we knew a bit of history on) Tested my boy and the results for the parts I knew are bang on accurate 100%, and the blanks filled in were very appreciated. They even tell you where in the lineage the breeds come from and all of that was completely accurate! I really appreciated the speed of the test results as well and it accurately linked him with 2 of his siblings that had been tested! For comparison, we used “DNA my dog” for our new puppy and they wildly messed up. Her mom is a 50/50 Labrador x Great Dane and neither of those breeds even made it onto her results, and those results took 2x longer than Embark. I will be redoing her test with Embark as well!!
