These got us through the February winter storms in Eastern Pennsylvania.
These are wonderfully stretchy devices that fit over most boots and shoes with only a little work. They have steel ice studs on the bottom, in replaceable disk mounts that are superior to the typical bent-metal crampons with only a hint of a point, that can't be replaced. These are lovely. The small diameter of the stud, along with the sharp right angle of the edges makes them penetrate even the toughest ice and hold you in place, keeping you from sliding around. The ice we've had during February of 2026 has been the worst sort -- thick, dense, and hard. The hardness has been up there between cast iron and moly-steel alloy, just barely softer than the studs on these ice grips. Any harder, and I would have had to upgrade to the titanium carbide version, just so they'd cut the ice. But these worked great. My partner and I each nearly brained ourselves a couple of times, just trying to get from the porch to the car, sitting less than 10 feet away from the foot of the porch steps. The snow was dense and deep, but had been wet snow, that put a hard, concrete-like layer underneath the thick glaze of ice that had fallen as freezing rain for a while, making every single step treacherous. Finally, I remembered I'd purchased these, and hauled them out. Immediately, walking outside was no longer an impossibility. We could not only get to the car, we could work our way to the curb. Unfortunately, this was only of slight benefit, when the delivery people didn't want to go to the effort of walking from the street to our porch with the packages, but instead left expensive items sitting 50 feet from the house on top of a snowdrift right on the side of the street where anybody could have stolen them. So we needed a way to reach them without dying or suffering grievous bodily harm. These ice grips worked perfectly to that end. Picking up the mail from the mailbox was a bit of a difficulty, too, as the mailbox was lying on top of the snowdrift at the street, where the snowplow left it after snapping if off at the ground level. We've since fixed this problem with a steel post sunk deeply into the ground, with a 4x4 cedar post inside it and attached with lag screws and secured in the ground with dry mix, rocks, and dirt. Any car or snowplow hitting THIS mailbox will likely just damage what hits it, and might, maybe, lift it out of the ground and require shoving it back in the hole. Don't hit the mailbox with a baseball bat, either. IT'S now made of thick steel, and will break your bat, and possibly your arm. You have been warned.

Perfect Traction for Casual Walking on Ice and for Fat Biking
I live in New Hampshire where ice is very common all winter. I keep traction devices in my car at all times and I have tried a number of different ones. In the past, I have used Microspikes for everything, because they worked better than anything else I have ever tried. However, they are heavier, scratch things if carried around inside your bag/purse and are overkill unless you are hiking up steep inclines, etc. (not to mention a lot more expensive and require 2 hands to put on). These Ice Grip traction devices FIT THE BILL for casual/everyday walking on ice. Not only are they fantastic for everyday ice walking, they are perfect for wearing while riding my Fat Bike. The traction devices do not interfere with my pedals (Microspikes do interfere with pedals) and when I have to put a foot down while biking, I have the traction I need to prevent slipping. For the price, these are fantastic. The studs do fall off (I lost 4 on my first ride), but the kit comes with extras. For this price, there is nothing better. Another thing to mention is they are very easy to put on and pull off your shoes and they STAY ON.

Breaks easy but works well. Easy to replace individual spikes.

The studs come out. Wouldn't rely on them for everyday use.
Just ok.

Great for those stability. They are ice resistance and spike length is good also. I suggest to put them in warm water this will make it easier for putting them on your outdoor shoes/boots

Stay on and durable.
Work well on ice but do not stick out far enough to probe nto snow or ice very far. Very easy to put on and stay on. I do need to take off outside as I have hardwood floors and nice rugs that I do not want to tear up. The cleats have worked well and the only reason I have replaced some is where I accidently used my foot to step on the shovel. Several of them broke off and went flying. They still worked well, just need to be careful because I for one forget theu are on. Lightweight, you can leave on shoes for outside and not need to take on and off of the shoes. I wore them all winter and never had an issue with them coming off, even when my stow path got soft and I sunk up past my knees. Wore on barn dirt and hay floor, ice, snow, and shoveled siewalk and stairs. Small enough to easily take with you in a pack if needed.

Almost Perfect, Just A Bit Too Big
Works 100%. I'm a photographer and have to get on the ice to do team shots at hockey games. Used to happen at the end of the game where the ice was nicely chopped up and easy to walk on with sneakers, but everyone kept staying on afterward to take selfies, delaying the Zamboni and the following games, so team shots were moved to the start of the game. That fresh ice is CRAZY slippery! Took a dive my first time out, so I had to pick up anything that would help me stay upright. I first tried something similar to these, but they wrapped stainless wire coils in X shaped patterns on the bottom of the soles. Unfortunately, they froze up after about 20 seconds, and then became nearly useless after collecting and holding ice. These, on the other hand, work almost perfectly from the very first step! Very secure traction, no matter the condition of the ice. My only gripe is that they're a bit big. I'm a 10.5 wide, so I bought the size stated for 8-11 feet. Unfortunately, they were a bit loose, so they started slipping to the side (see 2nd picture). I'll be trying one size smaller to see if they fit better, but I'll definitely keep these, since my shoes in the future may be larger on the outside.

These ice grippers are the best I've purchase. I like the way the toe piece covers the toe holding them in place much better then most ice grippers. Living in northern Ontario, I highly recommend these ones

Zeer makkelijk aan te passen aan diverse schoen types. Biedt stevig houvast op gladde oppervlakken. Extra bonus zijn de bijgeleverde reserve noppen.

It works perfectly on ice or snow. Instead of buying expensive snow proof boots I wear normal shoes and I use these grips.
