Worth every penny!!!
So glad I ordered these spikes! I trail run 4 miles daily and the trails have been treacherous lately with slippery packed snow and ice. I was able to run my entire route with these spikes with no slipping, even on steep ice-covered hills. They fit my shoes really well - snug but not constricting. And they are comfortable on the footbed, unlike cheaper spikes I’ve tried. Wish I’d ordered these last winter instead of switching to my indoor bike trainer!

Excellent traction on ice and packed snow
I have only completed one run, but I'm very happy with the Kahtoola ExoSpikes so far. I am a trail runner in Northern Ohio. We get lots of snow and frequent freeze-thaw-freeze cycles. I am usually able to find enough traction on the trails and haven't felt the need for additional traction devices. That changed last weekend. A friend and I were out on an 12 mile run and most of the trail was icy with a dusting of new snow on top. We managed pretty well, but it was dangerous and exhausting. Conditions for this weekend looked similar, so I researched the options and chose these spikes. We ran another 12 miles this morning and I am sold! The trails were in better condition today. They were packed snow, with some icy patches; so not as challenging as last week. I had fantastic traction at all times and hardly noticed the spikes as long as I was off-road. I experienced zero slipping going up hills and confidently ran down hills. It was a much better experience than my earlier runs this week (same conditions, but without spikes). We had a short road section and they were obviously noisy and out-of-place there, but that is to be expected. They go on and off very easily. The product insert recommends going up a size if you plan to use them on boots. I would add shoes with a large midsole to this recommendation. I have size Large and they fit my size 11.5 Hoka Challenger ATR shoes. I feel like they would be easier to put on in a larger size. They hold securely and showed no sign of slippage. My running partner noted that they go on and off easier than the other big brand that he had previously. After 12 miles of trail running, they show zero wear and seem like they should last several seasons. Overall I am very pleased with these spikes and look forward to many miles in them.

Great on slippery, icy, snow packed surfaces
I have only had these footwear traction devices for about one week so my experience with them is not a long time but I will say they work exceptionally well. I had other traction devices and these dig into icy, snow packed, and blacktop surfaces perfectly. These are much better than the others, that are probably more popular, than these but these work perfectly. I have had no slippery situations at all on our roads. The durability seems good, fairly easy to put on because they stretch. For safety I figure if they prevent any suffering from a fall or a trip to the ER these are worth it. Will buy again.

Great quality, and stay put
Simply the best for most winter hiking and snow clean up!

Worth the price
I gave this as a gift for a runner for the winter season. We kept the box, just in case they needed to be returned, but so far so good! We’ve had a lot of ice and the recipient has reported that they break right through the frozen sheets and help them feel confident each run. So far they’ve been used 6 times, a 2 mile run each in snow and ice. Even if they last 1 year through snow and mud I’d say it’s worth the cost - better than getting injured! Hoping they will last longer than that, but we will see. Happy with this product.

Sized very small
I have used the Microspikes for many years and they are my gold standard. I bought these for conditions where there are trail sections of ice and sections of dirt because they seemed less aggressive and more suitable for dirt/rock conditions. I have worn them four times. First and most importantly is the size problem. I wear a size 12 boot. The XL Microspikes fit great and easy to put on the regular hikers and heavier insulated winter boots. These Exospikes in XL only fit my size 12 boots after a big struggle in my living room sitting down. I left them on my boots for a few days to hopefully stretch them out a bit. This helped putting them on again. However, when trying to put them on during a hike, when they are cold and less stretchable, another struggle and I had to sit. So if you wear a boot greater than a 12, forget about getting these on. Come on Kahtoola, you need to made these in XXL. I keep them stored at home on the boots for continued stretching. Performance on ice was great. They dug in well and I had no slippage. I don't know how they compare to the Microspikes, which would still be my go to traction devices in severe steep icy trails without patches of dirt. They weight about one half as much as Microspikes. Durability I guess would be marginal given that the bottom is made out of a plastic type of material rather than stainless steel chain (Microspikes), particularly if they are worn a lot on dirt/rock sections. With these concerns, I would still recommend them for spotty ice/dirt conditions. Even if I only get one or two seasons use, it is still much cheaper than a broken wrist or hip. I don't recommend them if you wear a boot or shoe size greater than 12.

Awesome product!
This is a game changer for a senior! Where I live, the streets ice over and there is no way to get around it to get to a safe walking place. With these spikes, I feel completely secure. NOTE: the sizing chart is wrong. Go one size up for whatever it calls for. They will still fit great

Good fitting cleats likely will stay on boots
I have not yet used these spikes however, they fit over my boots and seem like they will stay on. They have good spikes and I think will work great in the ice. I will have an opportunity to test that in the next week or so.

Pros: -Good traction and stability. Excellent for Canadian cold winters. -Very durable, long-lasting. -Nearly unnoticeable when walking, after getting used to it. Cons: -May not fit every shoe size or type. -First time users might feel uneasy when in use. -Extremely rare occurances of gripping when on certain soft material surfaces. Full Review: I purchased these shoe exospikes for a slippery and icy Canadian winter in Alberta. They still work great to this day and will be used for the upcoming winter! Inside the package, there is the exospikes themselves, a manual, and instructions. The guide is easy to follow, and I had the spikes placed securely on my shoes within ten minutes. The day after I received them, there had been freezing rain, with -20C to -30C cold temperatures. When I looked outside, the entire sidewalk was covered in ice, and portions of the roads as well. Firmly fastening and tightening them, I headed for a walk to test how they held against the outdoor conditons. The first couple steps I took with them felt uneasy, but when I expected to slip on the ice, they gripped on and prevented me from suddenly sliding. Afterwards, they held up the whole 45 minute journey, and although for the first five minutes it was uncomfortable, I soon got used to them and carried on. When I returned home, they still retained their subtle, but durable spikes on the bottom, allowing me to go up the stairs towards my front door without any problems. Once I got inside, they were easy to take off, and I left them to dry. For most instances where I needed to go out afterwards, such as grocery shopping or taking walks, I almost always used these for a safe trip. Only when there was not as much ice, I did not wear these as when walking on softer floors, like in certain stores, the spikes would infrequently grip the threads and make it harder to walk around. Overall, these exospikes worked great, and held up to the extremely slippery conditions. They are very durable, lightweight, and will work well for other similar environments one may face. I am definitely using these for the upcoming winter here in Alberta, Canada, and I recommend these extensively for any person with similar outdoor conditions. I rate these 10/10!

Excellent - tight fit to get on/off but perfect grip

These wrap nicely over the shoe so it won't come lose like some others. Sure it may take 20sec more to put it on. But i can actually rely on these

Everyone in the household now has their own. Well-designed, sturdy, easy to put on and take off, and totally effective for urban ice and snow. We have some steep streets in our neighbourhood, and walking the dog used to be an exciting adventure in sliding down ice-covered sidewalks and trying to gain enough traction to get back up them.
