I brushed the clear wax on first, followed with this dark wax. Oh my. Instant upgrade and improvement. It took me a few experimental strokes to find that stippling followed by light brush strokes worked the best to give that "old wood" shaded effect. It honestly took me a total of 15 minutes to go from a cheap frame to rich aged wood. The only negative I can mention, is that 24 hours later, it still feels quite waxy. I sanded it a little to reduce splintering and then waxed it with this stuff.
