Waterproof Iron-On Seam Sealing Wetsuit Neoprene Fabric Fusing Adhesive Repair Tape (Black, 2M)

Works great on a surplus military gore-tex rain coat.

It worked great. Resealed Goretex jacket before a ski trip. Very easy to iron on.

I recommend testing a small piece of this on a scrap of the fabric you're applying it to so you can test your iron setting. The directions state nylon/polyester setting, but on my iron, that is a range of 3 different temps. I settled on wool, which was between nylon and polyester. This temp was high enough to melt the adhesive but not so high that it scorched the fabric I was working on. This held fast and made waterproofing the ski pants I was shortening a breeze. Would definitely purchase again.

I have an older North Face expedition rain cost that is in great shape other than the seam tape delaminating. This tape goes on great using the tip of an iron set to the lowest, or next lowest setting. In some ares the seam was a bit bulky so the tolerances for attaching the tape so it covered the seam on both sides was pretty tight. Hint: Clean the seam area to remove old glue from previous tape and schmutz using rubbing alcohol and wipe with a damp cloth and let dry Do small sections even it means overlapping the tape as trying to wrangle a long section of tape, a hot iron and piece of clothing will often have the iron hitting a portion of the tape that is not being ironed. Go over the tape along the middle first and then along each edge (iron it three times) without stopping.

These strips iron on very well and, two years later, are still in place and repelling water. I am very satisfied. Eventually, the factory seam sealing strips will peel off of your rainwear - use these to give your Gortex a second life.

This iron-on wetsuit repair tape did not come with instructions, which had to be “googled” for some general directions for similar products. After ironing repeatedly parts of the tape still did not adhere - one edge did but the other edge did not. Finally my husband used his wetsuit repair glue over it - this is his stand-by for any leak and has always worked to seam his suit in the past. Even so, after a short time wearing his wetsuit the piece of repair tape STILL fell off! My job is sewing - I do NOT recommend.

Make sure to read the description, the image of a roll can be deceiving! I was deciding between 3 different listings of this product and thought I was getting a lot more, turns out its only 6.5'. It was enough for the first project I was working on, the quality is good enough as far as I can tell for now (only tested through 2 washes so far). Won't be ordering again though since I need significantly more than 6.5'. That was obviously my fault 100%.

I ordered Grey as the inside of my rain jacket is grey - they sent white. it seems to stick ok - make sure you let it completely cool before checking for how well it stuck.

The fact that you have to use an iron to apply it is very tricky as neoprene does not like heat. I actually damaged my wetsuit trying to apply the patch. Maybe some clearer instructions would help.

It took but a few minutes to repair my Gortex coat and it was pretty easy!
