It has a very loud emergency whistle right on the chest buckle that I didn't even know I wanted until I got it. That will guaranteed come in handy, even just for signaling a friend on the trail.The internal compartment is very well insulated with metallic thermal lining... Will keep water cool or warm if that's your thing. Unlike many similar packs, this one has a waist buckle too, and that really helps keep it in place if you get jogging or running. Refill cap is easy to secure and is very water right. Drinking tube has a very secure two stage simple lock system. Main lock opens when you slightly pull on the head and locks when you slightly push down on it. Bite valve to drink. Never get wet accidentally from dripping.
