Very Satisfied
If you have read the other reviews you will understand that there are limitations to this lens, but don't let that discourage you. Keep in mind that the biggest aspect here was the price. I actually had fun trying this out today. You're going to need a bright day because the aperture is fixed according to the focal length. For example, at 420mm the aperture is fixed at f8.3. As you increase the focal length, the aperture gets smaller until you get to 800mm where the aperture is fixed at f16. If you are interested in purchasing this lens, please read the special note that you need to use this lens in the manual mode on your camera. Remember, this lens is less than $100, so we are talking about something worthwhile for those who just simply enjoy photography. That said, I took several photos from a nearby location. The one where the heron is looking to the left is using the Canon 75-300mm at 300mm. The photo looking toward the exit sign was with the Canon 18-55mm at 40mm. I took these to compare this lens with those that have auto focus. All the photos but one are unedited (except for size) and the ISO was set to 100. I was very impressed with how the lens performed for one of this price range. It will take some practice and patience learning to focus manually, but it will pay off. As recommended in other reviews, use the live view on your camera and use a remote (or at least 10 seconds on the timer) to reduce camera shake. You have to remember that not only are you magnifying the subject, but also any movement. Unfortunately, it was so bright that I couldn't really see the LCD screen to focus (I think I could have gotten the images sharper), so I had to do the best I could with focusing through the viewfinder. But still, I was happy with the results. With patience (required regardless) and some editing, I think you'll be pleased. There will be some chromatic aberrations, which is to be expected, but with some photo editing (such as Light Room Classic), you should be able to clear that up. Overall, this lens performed as was advertised. It comes with an EOS adapter, which is metal instead of plastic (a plus!). The lens also comes in a bag. After a few minutes of practice attaching the adapter and then attaching the lens to the camera, I felt very comfortable. I keep the extra quick release adapter that came my tripod on all the time. If you want to have some fun with telephoto photography, then this lens is definitely worth getting! The photo of the jet was taken without the use of a tripod. The camera was set to AV so I only had to concentrate on focusing. I figure the jet was at about 28,000 feet but I could tell what type of flight it was. With $30 of the price you can’t go wrong!

Wow! What an amazing lens for the price!
My husband bought me this lens for Christmas. I am truly blown away by the quality! I have ordered other brands before that were around the same price point but all the pictures came out highly distorted and almost had a prism like effect no matter how I focused them or put my settings. It was always a disaster. This lens gives me sharper images and does amazing at night for my moon pictures. I wish I took pictures showing how far things actually were to show the true quality this thing gives out!! These pictures were all taken with no tripod also! Can’t wait to see how they turn out with mine! Definitely worth the buy.

An Okay Manual Focus lens for the price!
I used this lens on a Canon EOS 80D for wildlife photography with very little issue. Its body is made of plastic with some aluminum, but it doesn't feel too cheap, just not deluxe. While my camera warns me there isn't a lens attached it still lets me shoot. This Lens basically requires a tripod because there is no stabilizer whatsoever. While the photos come out focused there is a lot of Chromatic Aberration and some "haloing" around subjects however you can tone this down in programs like Photoshop or Lightroom. Another thing to consider is that because there is no stabilizer I highly recommend using an external shutter or a timer to take pictures because even the SLIGHTEST bump or gust of wind (even with a tripod) will result in a blurry photo. All in all this Lens is a great value for the price, especially if you're patient and work around its drawbacks.

Works great!
Works exactly as it's supposed to! Make sure to read the whole listing. It is manual focus, and you have to set your camera up correctly to use it. For those new to this type of lens, you will need patience and a very sturdy tripod, cheaper tripods may not work and will cause too much shaking or nit be able to hold the lens exactly where needed. Took a pic of the moon for an example of how well this works!

You get what you pay for
It's an okay lens for the price. Does well enough in daylight conditions, but really suffers at dusk. Mainly due to it's relatively high f-stop. Build quality isn't great, but isn't terrible either. Works well on a tripod, but shooting freehand can work as long as there's enough light for a high shutter speed. If you're going to try to use it during twilight, you will need a very sturdy tripod as well as a remote shutter release as ANY movement (including the slight movement from a mechanical shutter) can ruin the shot. I still haven't gotten any sharp night shots with this lens, even with a tripod. The tripod mount is too far forward, making the whole assembly too heavy in the rear when zoomed out to 420mm. Perhaps it might do better with a mirrorless camera with an electronic shutter, but I don't have one yet. Overall, I would say it would work okay for someone looking to get into wildlife photography on a budget. However, there are couple lenses that have similar magnification at lower f-stop that only cost $50 - $60 more than this lens. For instance, Opteka has a Cassegrain-type mirror lens in 500mm (non-zoomable) at f/6.3. Compare this with the Lightdow's f/10 at 500mm. Although mirror lenses are a bit different from standard lenses, the smaller form factor and extra light makes them much easier to get shots without motion blur in darker environments, even without a tripod.

Better than expected
This is a manual only lens so you have to set the camera on M. Works great with my canon t8i. Considering the price it’s fantastic. Images are clear.
