Manual of Perioperative Care in Adult Cardiac Surgery 6th Edition

As a physician assistant student I found this book to be incredibly valuable. The content is thorough, practical, and clearly written by people who understand the real-world challenges of managing cardiac surgery patients. I appreciated how well it covered everything from pre-op assessment to post-op complications, especially topics like low cardiac output syndrome and the use of mechanical circulatory support.That said, I do wish the book included more diagrams and visual aids. Some sections are quite dense, and a few more illustrations or flowcharts would have made complex concepts easier to digest. It’s been a great addition to my study resources and one I’ll continue to reference throughout my training and early practice. Highly recommended for anyone involved in cardiac surgical care or wanting to learn more.

Must have for the cardiac surgical ICU. Great introductory reading for residents and fellows.

I bought this book as an introduction/reminder of most standard cardiac surgery prior to starting a new job including cardiac surgical patients and it does an excellent job of providing indications, surgical approaches and pre/post-op managment. In my opinion there is a bit too much info on the official surgical guideline criteria though cant say it wouldn't be invaluable to somone else focusing more on cardiac surgery only.

Great resource if you work in CVICU

Best CTICU book there is, that is friendly for nurse readers and mid-level providers (PAs/NPs).

I am entering the work force in the field of CT surgery and have been eyeing this book. I was given an old copy to read and loved it. I had to buy the new copy to have with me and bring into work. I love any type of literature that will aid me in learning about this complex area of medicine. I love the way the book is laid out and I recommend this to anyone thinking of going into anything cardio related in the field of medicine.

Purchased the book as “new”, but received it with something crusted on the back and pages stuck together from a spill on the corner edges. The book itself is great and very helpful.

I was looking for this kind of book for a long time, buying different books like Fast Facts for Cardiac surgery nurse because the information in these books was not enough, multiple topics were missing or explanation was given partially. This book is very comprehensive, and what is very important, it is readable.The book is easy to read and it has all the explanations I was looking for.There is only one complain-- small font.I am very happy with my purchase.
