Powerful and well built
While I’ve only had this blow dryer for a month, I’m very happy with it. I’d expect this blow dryer to last a very long time. I had a Babyliss Pro that lasted for about 10 years before it died- that was an excellent blow dryer- though this one is better. Very powerful air flow, the heat switches quickly between cool, medium, and hot. It’s super sturdy and well built. Unpretentious, beautiful, with excellent value.

Well made product. Long-lasting. I've been a customer for years. I love this hair- dryer.

Works well, good quality
Really well-constructed hair dryer - dries hair quickly, and not too loud. It's also about the only dryer I could find that was remotely affordable AND not made in China! It's manufactured in Italy (but comes with US plugs), which I prefer for ethical reasons. The dryer includes 3 heat settings - from hot, to medium, to the (basically room temp) 'cold shot' setting, which is nice for finishing off your hair without frying it. I've been using it for a few months and am overall very pleased.

Strong
This is a great hairdryer. It lasted more than 11 years for me, traveling (a bit bulky, but I "had" to have it!) all over with me. Love it.

Best Blow Dryer
I have thick, long and wavy hair. Even though I love my hair after it is blow dried it used to take over 30 minutes and I was usually hot afterwards. I purchased the Elchim and I can't believe the improvement. It reduced hair drying time dramatically and the settings are perfect. Also, it is quite, even on the highest speed. I would definitely recommend, especially with the attachments. The price is more than a drug store brand but you are paying for a professional piece and this will last you so much longer. I wish I could give this product 4 1/2 stars because my only issue is that it can get heavy so I have to switch my arms.

Works as advertised
I am giving this dryer five stars because it does what it says it will. So many products don't, so this is a relief. After reading all of the reviews, I expected two key things. One, that the dryer would malfunction in some way (flames flying out of it, wires in the cord breaking, etc) and two, that my hair would be dry in no time at all. So far, so good on the malfunction issue. I'm not living in fear of my dryer. To help the cord life, I attached a larger loop to the dryer so I could safely hang it on a hook (the loop hole on the dryer was too small for my hook). As far as my hair drying at warp speed, the jury is still out. My husband mentioned that he thinks he can dry our daughter's hair faster, so maybe it does. Personally, I don't see much difference in dry time from this expensive one to my BJ's cheapo purchase a few years ago. It's not a significant enough difference to justify the cost. I'm keeping this dryer for two reasons. First, it's hard to find the speed and heat combinations that this one has. I can use a warm/hot setting for my kids that won't burn their delicate skin (2 and 4 years old) and a hot/hot setting for me to dry my medium length, thick hair as fast as I can. In either case, I can use a "low blow" setting or a "high blow" setting (such technical terms I have) so I can not only control the speed at which I dry, but also the level of noise output. That brings me to my second reason for keeping it. LOW NOISE LEVEL. The is the quietest dryer I've ever owned and the key reason I'm keeping it. I can finally dry my hair before I go to bed at night, without fear of waking the entire household. And if I use the "low blow" setting on hot heat, I can get my hair totally dry with very little noise. For me, that's worth the cost! Mine came in black, which is what I ordered. I got two filters for the back of it (I don't know why though) and the nozzle that concentrates the heat to one area. I don't use that, but I found that my old diffuser fits over this dryer and I use that quite often. I would say my hair dries much faster with the diffuser over the top. Some reviewers said the dryer is too heavy. I'm 5'1" and I don't work out (unless running after my kids counts), so I was concerned about this fact. I dry my hair pretty much daily, so weight isn't a small concern over time. But, it's not a problem. In fact, it's slightly lighter than my last dryer, so I'm happy! Overall, I would recommend this dryer to others and I would purchase it again in the future.

Best hair dryer ever
OMG where was this hair dryer all my life!!! Honestly I was hesitating buying this hair dryer for years but after doing some serious research I found that this dryer got great reviews and thumbs up time and time again so I decide to put my money where my gut feeling is and am thankful that I did as it was best decision I could make for my hair. Not only does it dry my fast but also dries it straighter with less fly aways. Love it and from now on am definitely a Elchim fan!!! My hair thanks it!

Excellent product, but!!
I wanted to love this hair dryer because I was so impressed with reviews here and on other sites, and also, my hairdresser swears by it. It is expensive, but the really professional Elchim can run into the hundreds of dollars. I was also very impressed with the seller and the care they took in preparing the package and the speedy service. The only problem with the hair dryer packaging is there are no instructions. I had to go online and try to find out how to use it, and learned that it does give off a lot of heat so I was very careful to use the lowest settings so as not to damage my hair. This meant it took ages to dry my thin hair. Many said they found it heavy, but I didn't. I also had to use the small defuser that came with it because if I didn't it would blow my hair into a wild mess. What I did find was it left my hair shiny and soft and no frizzies. However, that was the problem and the reason I ended up returning it--it left my baby fine, thinning hair too soft and flat. I have learned that hair dryers are tested on people with normal hair, and lots of it--if any are specifically made or tried on those of us with baby fine and thin hair, I just haven't been able to find THE one. I hope I wasn't premature in sending it back because I must admit my hair was in need of highlights and color. Oh well.
