The product is sturdy, hold lots of weigh, and allows both drivers and passengers ease of exit from sedan vehicles where the floor of the vehicle is lower than the threshold of the door jam. An especially accessible need for passengers and drivers who have mobility issues with their knees and or who need a grip to pull themselves out of the vehicle and on to the pavement generally, Car Caddy Safety Grab Handle does the job and is a welcome addition to easily install on the window of your vehicle. Ergonomically assist exit from sedan cars. Reasonably priced and well thought out to function as an assistive device.

I bought this with the Able Life Auto Assist Grab Bar when the latter was a Lightning Deal. I take taxis occasionally, and was tired of how difficult and, usually, painful it was to exit (I have chronic osteoarthritis in most of my large joints due to a genetic condition). What a difference using these devices make!! With one on each side, I can exit much faster and almost painlessly, and both attach quickly and easily. The driver was impressed, and agreed with me when I said that it would be great if cab drivers had these. One reviewer complained that this device becomes a wick for rainwater if it's left attached, and results in the passenger by the door getting wet. Well, DUH!! It's not SUPPOSED to be left in place, because when you break a car door's seal, of COURSE it will leak! Used as intended, this is an extremely helpful device. Incidentally, I exceed the recommended weight limit of 250 lb. by over 50 lb. but have experienced no problems with the buckle slipping or anything breaking. It's very well-made.

This can be attached quickly and easily, and can be stored in the pocket of the car door. It works well and also seems to boost my 87 year old mother-in-law's confidence that she is holding on to something secure. It does require the ability to reach a hand up high enough to grab the handle, which should be OK unless the passenger has issues with arm dexterity. When getting in or out of the car you have to hold the door securely and make sure the passenger doesn't pull the door closed while trying to enter or exit. Would have given it 5 stars except it has one minor issue. If you don't unclip it from the door when driving it tends to swing and nudge the passenger's head. This weighs nearly nothing so it's not a safety thing but you might have to get used to your passenger (who probably can't see it when sitting in the car) exclaiming, "What's that bumping my head!?" until they realize what it is (or you move or detach it after they get in the car). Overall a very useful and helpful item that we use every time. Recommend!

This bar is perfect. We have limited space in our bedroom. this bar just works wonders. It could be a bit more stronger but it is working great for my husband he has support by the bed and it gives more freedom getting around. Thanks for a good purchase. It was well worth the price too!

I think that for many people this item has the potential to work pretty well depending on their age, medical condition and strength. However, in the case of my crippled and elderly mother it's not so great and she doesn't even use it. My mother is very short (under 5 feet now due to her illness), crippled and not terribly strong. Due to her age and condition I am always right there to assist her should she have any trouble or slip - I'm a bit on the paranoid side when it comes to my mother's safety and well being. Despite the ability to adjust the straps, she finds it difficult and uncomfortable to grasp to assist her in entering or exiting the vehicle. It just moves around too much for her. She actually prefers to grip the door frame itself as she gets into or out of the vehicle and has completely given up on the product. I must also question the recommended positioning of this product on a window frame. Although it may work in some cases, it could potentially be a hazard if the window is not fully closed and can become annoying at times while driving. I probably should have returned the product before the return window expired, but I kept it installed in my vehicle during the time it took me to move her and part of her household almost 1000 miles after my father had died. I kept it installed as a possible backup thinking that it might work out for her over time, but this did not turn out to be the case.

I have now used this product for approximately 20 days in two different vehicles: 2013 Chevrolet Impala & 2008 Lexus RX350. Product works flawlessly with a 93 year old woman. After reading some of the negative reviews, I was prepared to have the handle slip when it was grabbed for support, but I did something to make that almost impossible. Here's the trick - take the strap and wrap it twice around the window frame (the illustration shows it hanging limply with no wrap which could lead to slipping). If you are familiar with knots, it would be a half-hitch around the window frame - BTW - half-hitch is how you secure a horse to a hitching post. After the double-wrap, then close the window. Between the half-hitch, friction against rubber door gasket, and window glass in the channel, the handle will NOT move. Bonus: The strap is so long you still have enough slack to make adjustments to the handle height. When unwrapped, the handle is quite odoriferous (uncured rubber smell - it is made in China, so be warned), but the odor dissipates about 90% after a few days.

Invaluable tool in assisting one’s ability to access seat in vehicle.

Great for getting in to my van if it is wet or my boots are muddy so you could slip. Also amazing for my mum who is disabled to get in and out of her car. I have it attached to the middle head rest in my van and works a treat really strong and sturdy.

This is great, in conjunction with car handle, to help me get out of the car.
