Gets the job done well
I am very pleased with the slicer. The motor is very quiet. I had an old slicer many years ago that sounded like a boat motor when I was using it. The dial for thickeners is easy to maneuver. Easy to clean. I sliced meat and cheese with great results.

Big Improvement
I've had a household electric slicer for over 35 years. A plastic body, it was easy to clean, but a bit difficult to do a large slicing job. Two years ago, my grandson requested homemade mesquite jerky. I could only slice a small batch at a time ( 2 lb. of meat at a time) before it started to heat up and slide across the counter. I needed two hands to hold and slice. Dangerous. The jerky was great & demand/requests rose dramatically. My poor little slicer was NOT large enough to handle it. It was old and getting worn out from usage. So Hubby went on Amazon to look for a larger one that would be a good substitute. He found three & bookmarked all. He had me take my pick as per features and buy it. GREAT! I've sliced enough meat for several batches of jerky, leftover ham and poultry for sandwiches - regardless of thickness. Even partially frozen meats. It's a bit heavy for me to get out of storage, but if hubby is around, he will get it out for me. I should have gotten this months ago! It does not slide on the counter while slicing. Nor does it vibrate, shred the meat no matter how thin, ditto with block cheese(s). Some of the meat is so thin, it only has one side. HA! If you want a reliable slicer that should not wear out , slice large quantities of meat and/or cheeses with no damages to the food - this is it.

Made short work of 3 lbs of bacon
Update 06/19/2023: OK, I've used this several times now and still quite happy with it. Nothing new to add excerpt that I would definitely recommend this to any friends looking for a home slicer. Also, putting the slicer on a silicone mat makes a huge difference in stability! Absolutely no sliding as it did on the plain counter (suction cups weren't working too well on the counter, work great on a silicone mat). I purchased this particular brand/model based upon a review of slicers for slicing home cured/smoked bacon. I used it for the first time this morning to slice up some cottage bacon I had cured and smoked yesterday. As the title says, it made pretty short work of slicing up the bacon. This is not a commercial slicer, not even close! It's for home use and the instructions say don't operate for more than 10 minutes. It took a little longer than 10 minutes to slice the bacon, especially since as the piece got smaller it tended to stick to the blade. As I pushed forward the it would slice but the flat of the blade would pick up the bacon I was cutting from and it would spin around on the blade. This happened a few times. The blade cut through the bacon pretty easily, I have no complaints. The part of the slice that moves forward and back to adjust the thickness did not move while slicing the bacon. I've seen other slicers where the bacon got thicker and thicker because as you pushed to hold the bacon in place it was pushing this part down, creating thicker slices. For this slicer, the thickness was consistent. I should have taken a picture, but the bacon is now packaged an in the freezer. Cleanup was OK. The blade comes off easily enough, the carriage flips forward for easy access, and there's only one spot that was a little tight to clean. Overall, no complaints as far as cleaning goes. For $129.98 (there was a $10.00 coupon) you get a home meat slicer that is (at the very least) functional. It works pretty well, it isn't too loud, and it's pretty easy to clean. If you have ever cut a slab of home smoked bacon into slices you will absolutely appreciate this slicer. Keep in mind, though, that you will need to cut the length of your slab in half or in thirds to get it to a size where it will fit on the slicer. This will obviously result in short slices. After my first use, I'm happy with the slicer and thing it is well worth the money.

Great machine
Not cumbersome at all. Since buying this machine I realized how much money I have given away by not slicing meats and cheeses myself! Handle with care but the clean up is a breeze. If you’re on the fence about this machine, just do it. Your gonna love it

Money saver
From thick to thick slices, very easy to select. Very easy to clean. Make your own deli sandwiches and save money. I recommend this machine..

I expected more given the ratings
Here's the deal. The food slicer works, largely as advertised. That said, there are a few things that I found off-putting. First of all, I was disappointed in the range of motion of the slide. Only about 7" is big enough for perhaps a turkey breast or a hunk of roast beef. I bought this to slice bacon, which is more like about 10" or more in length (typically). This forced me to cut my bacon slabs in half - not a huge deal but certainly caught me by surprise. Second, cleaning is somewhat of a pain. There are some areas one can't easily get access to, mostly around the blade cover. I would have liked the ability to break things down a bit more to clean. Also, while the main slide tips away from the blade, it doesn't appear to easily detach from the rail, which makes that part harder to clean. Pros - Easy to use - Just worked with a few adjustments in my expectations Cons - Not as long of a slide range as I expected (only 7") or so. - Harder to clean - Stuff frequently gets jammed up at the bottom of the blade where it is supposed to exit. I had to periodically stop and clean that out - more often than I'd have liked.

Good for the price.
Works as advertised. Only comment I would make is, the slide board (for lack of better term) is a bit flimsy as in, when pressing meat back it doesnt support the amount of pressure thus the slices are thicker than the settings that were set. If that makes any sense.

Best Thing Since Sliced Bread! I read all the reviews and was optimistic about buying this slicer. I realize that there will always be some negative reviews due to preference, human error and sometimes sloppy delivery. I was fortunate to buy a product that does what it claimed to do. I received my slicer today and put it to use immediately. I specifically bought this machine to slice my sourdough bread which I make every week. Super easy to operate and very efficient. Cut the bread perfectly! Having said all that, time will tell how it holds up. I would like to mention that the instructions say to use the non serrated blade for bread. I used the serrated blade since that’s what a bread knife has and it worked beautifully.

Have had this item for months now and have been very happy with it. I often purchase a small smoked slab of ham which i then slice myself. It is amazing how many slices you can get off of one piece of ham, and the money saved is unbelievable as well as the fact this is real ham not one of the compressed rolls of ham wannabe. Of course ham is not the only thing that i slice with this machine, all meats, from Salami to roast beef can be sliced to your desired thickness with ease. I have sliced cheeses, just make sure its cold and a good quality cheese like aged cheddar. I have saved plenty of money, over the months by purchasing good quality food, slicing it myself, and freezing what i dont require immediately, this machine has already paid for itself. The clean up is easy, i use a quarter (that i keep taped to the machine) to open the blade holder, i then balance the blade on a crooked finger to wash and dry. The whole machine is then wiped down with a soapy cloth and a tooth brush that i use to clean the crevices of any tiny bits. The food holder has very sharp spikes so i clean that with a tooth brush too. This item is an investment that pays for itself over and over, beats not only the deli prices, but the quality of food i am slicing, plus i get to choose how thick i want, the slices to be. Updated…….despite what some people are saying you CAN FIND EXTRA BLADES at Amazon.com. They are not cheap as you have to pay S&H as well as US conversion if you live in Canada. My original purchase only included the reg blade, but wanted the serrated one. The item numbers are TWFS289/TWFS299. You can order either one as replacement blades and they fit the machine perfectly.

After a long search of various meat slicers, I settled on the Techwood. I shouldn't say "settled", as this was a diamond in the rough. I've tried other slicers that friends have, watched many videos and demos, none come close to this. Cuts well and cleans easy. I've not had any issues giving it a thorough clean. It's a meat slicer, expect to take longer than 1 minute to do a good job. For a 9" or greater straight blade, I think you'll need to spend north of $250 to get something comparable. Thickness gauge is great. I've had it for 2 months now and have tried a variety of meats - salami, a good old fashioned Schneider's tube of bologna, ham - all cut to my desired thickness. I cooked an eye of round roast to medium rare, let it cool and got great deli slices from it. The few plastic parts aren't a big concern to me. The majority is metal, with the tray and blade housing being plastic. Something had to give in order to keep this unit under $200 and that's reasonable for a home use unit. Suction cup feet grip well. In the two months I've had it, I've probably used it 3 to 5 times a week. No issues as of yet. Well worth the purchase.

I bought this for slicing bread, and it does a fine job for that, at least using the serrated wheel. The maximum thickness of 15mm is a bit limiting. In Europe, a breakfast slice can easily go 20mm or thicker. 15mm is more of a thick sandwich slice. Fortunately for me, that 15mm just happens to be the thickness I like for sandwiches. I tried it at 10mm and it also worked well, but I wouldn't try it thinner without risking the integrity of the slice. Not surprisingly, a crispier crust will create a LOT of crumbs with this slicer, but it's easy to clean because the crumbs fall through the slicer. Just remember to clean the suction cups precisely because food does fall under the slicer and can gunk them up. Speaking of suction cups, I use my slicer on top of my ceramic stove top and they keep the slicer very stable. The size, however, is at the limit for a 2-pound loaf of bread. Anything bigger wouldn't fit. It's a silly design choice because they could easily have extended the reach to the left without compromising safety. Given its design, I wouldn't use this to slice meat, but I can't deduct stars for that because it's not why I bought it. While it does exactly what I need it for, it's not a very versatile slicer. If you need it for anything other than slicing bread, I wouldn't really recommend it. If you do need it just for bread, it's very nice.

Used first time today to cut a full pork loin into chops and thin slices for fast frying. I spent 1 hour cutting the meat and cleaning the machine, could've done it with a knife & cutting board in 1/4 the amount of time. Nothing comes off for cleaning except the blade and pusher. Meat tray etc. is fixed and filthy upon completion of meat cutting tasks. Meat tray has a piece of metal over plastic for the meat to sit on however there are grooves around the edges that meat juices can penetrate. This part is not designed to be easily removed from the machine for cleaning. It's too late for me to return it, doubt I'd ever use it again for meat, may just sell on market[lace and take the loss.
