I add the toothpaste to a greenie dental chew for my toy poodle and it really helps keep his teeth clean.

My dog hates to have her teeth brushed! However, as she is now 13 years old with mild kidney dysfunction which prevents her from tooth cleaning under anesthesia, I have been more determined to clean her teeth nightly.This product (mint flavored) has been really well accepted by her. She will chew the bristles of the brush herself while I maintain the position of the brush. Oftentimes, she will keep the brush afterwards, and continue to chew as she likes the flavor so much!
