As a Viner, I normally never review things that I actually buy out of my own pocket. But, I'm reviewing this one because it answers questions I had but could never find the answer to. Ok, the most important one. Will the exhaust from a 2021 Rav4 cause any boxes like cardboard, or plastic box, to get hot or catch on fire? And, the resounding answer is NO! We traveled 1130 miles one way to Canada with a LOT of stuff on the back. We had large plastic storage boxes, and cardboard boxes on top of that. We strapped them all down with bungee cords. And, nothing melted or caught on fire. We would periodically check out the boxes in the back at rest stops, and the boxes all felt cool / cold to the touch. I have a 11" sandal / slide to measure the exhaust to the hitch one on of my pics. And, at that distance, everything was safe. On the drive back a few months later, though, we had just some cardboard boxes. We left all of our plastic storage bins up in Canada. And, one thing to not about this hitch is that in wet roads, whatever is in the back there WILL get wet on the under side. However, if you're driving at speed in the rain. The top will not get, because of the drafting effect. Although, the sides of the boxes may get wet. So, if you can, use plastic boxes instead. All in all, this is a GREAT hitch carrier that extends your carrying space. We brought up so much junk with us to Canada, that we needed this hitch to carry everything with us. It's LIGHT. It's STURDY. It's EASY to put together. And, the best thing is, it's way better for your fuel economy than a roof cargo carrier. Those things absolutely kill your fuel economy by adding lots of drag. This hitch carrier with about 100 lbs loaded didn't do anything to our fuel economy. It was the same as it every was. Absolutely, whole heartedly recommend it.

Super amazing & easy to build. Very light and durable. An elderly person could easily assemble this and put it on their car.

Although I haven't yet attached the cargo carrier to a receiver hitch (on order from Amazon), I've completed assembly: PROS: Lightweight, solid construction, rust-free aluminum, a very good value, no missing or damaged parts or hardware, accurate pre-drilled holes, intuitive assembly. CONS: Painstaking 1.5 - 2 hour assembly working with many screws and very small nuts, no wrenches supplied- two are needed (I have an ample tool box but others might not), aluminum particles can be heard (like sand) inside the larger frame sections when the carrier is moved. This is due to the pre-drilled holes made after partial assembly of the frame sections.

Great value. Comes with hitch stabilizer, which is needed. Fits very loose in hitch, but the stabilizer shores that up. It’s extremely light, which makes attaching it much easier. Using it on a Kia sorento and it doesn’t cover up the taillights.

Just what the description said: quality product, aluminum so light weight, works as it should. A very pleasant surprise was that they included an extra 5mm screw and 3 extra 5mm nuts, because if you drop one of those little things they hide exceptionally well. Thanks for saving me a trip to the hardware store!

We use this to haul most of our tools and supply's for sewer and utility connection, leveling blocks for our RV. Keeps dirt etc out of our rv compartments and is handy.

Seems to be a quality product. It sure looks very nice. Only time will tell how well it hold up and if it supports the rated max weight of 500 pounds. It went together very quite easily (lots of little bolts and nuts). All of the parts and bolts etc., were there. Took an hour or so to put together finishing with a small socket set and power drill. It is much lighter than my old steel one. Looking forward to traveling with it. I would recommend it.

La verdad es que sorprendentemente es resistente y firme. Yo me tomé la libertad de abrir un agujero al principio de la barra ya que el portón de mi Ford Ranger chocaba con el remolque al abrirlo. Fácil de montar y fácil de poner y quitar.

It’s lightweight, easy to assemble (Im a female but able to assemble it without help). Highly recommend. We also boughtvthe MauxHaul Cargo Carrier Bag with this, its a very perfect combination!
