F40 V LAT 622 Latitude Door Lever, Bed & Bath Privacy Lock, Matte Black

I recently purchased the Schlage F40 V LAT 622 Latitude Door Lever in Matte Black for my bed and bath, and I must say, I am thoroughly impressed. This door lever not only adds a touch of modern elegance to my home but also delivers on functionality. One of the standout features of this product is its sleek design. Our existing hardware was outdated. We replaced all the hinges and handles throughout our home. Out with the gold trim, like I mentioned-outdated, and in with the satin nickel. Several trips to local stores and we made our decision. But wait! Amazon was best price online and approximately $8-$10 cheaper per item. Ordering 16 sets that's a bit of savings! We didn't choose the cheapest, we chose the ones we wanted! And for the cost every bit helps. Ordered Saturday afternoon, arrived Sunday morning! Took approximately 4-5 minutes per door to install. Definitely a quality upgrade. We can feel a difference in the sturdiness and they look great. All latches fit perfectly, no need to chisel for proper fit. None of the strike plates required adjustment, they latched perfect first time.

These knobs are gorgeous. The black has a beautiful matt paint job and they feel very sturdy and high quality in the hand. My contractor loved them and so do I. He says the crimping on the sides is there on purpose, to help you take off the plate if you ever change the knob. I wouldn’t have noticed it if I hadn’t read other reviews about it. Clearly it wouldn’t be a mistake on every single knob. All high quality knobs have this. These knobs are slightly more than the other brands, but they hang absolutely straight and the lever snaps back level every time (my kwikset lever knobs went crooked and saggy within a few days).

I have always been a fan of Schlage locks. These were what I expected. They have a great matte black color. Well made. So easy to install. Take 10 mins. Some reviews complained there is a little lag in the handle when turning it before it engages. Yes. A little one. It hasn’t bothered me one bit. The lock works perfectly. I love that it has a hole on the non locking side to push a pin in to unlock it, if need be. And the pins come with each one. Very study handle for the money.

I received what I believe to be a returned item. Typically I don’t care, as I’d rather take something with a scratch or whatever to save the landfills, but with this I couldn’t help but be upset. I’ll start by saying this is the latest in a long line of door handle changing I’ve done in the past six months. I am extremely proficient at installing door handles. When I tell you. This freakin’ handle. Took me an HOUR to install. You best believe that is like 55 minutes longer than it should have taken. The box I received had no padding, no protective bags, no cardboard dividers, nothing. Just a box with all the parts rollin’ around together. I’ve ordered this exact same handle many times from a handful of other retailers and none of them looked like this mess. As I mentioned, normally it would be fine. But this matte black handle came with the most god awful scratches all over it from the screws and the parts all runnin’ up against each other like it was an….ogre (purposefully misspelled to protect young eyes). Beyond the aesthetic of the piece, it was missing parts and the parts it did have were bent in such a way that it doesn’t lay completely flat. I was able to retro fit some bits from the previous handle to save the hassle of having to return it, but it only functions at 80%, because the strike plate only mostly lines up with the handle. This handle is on a door that is rarely used, so I’m bothered by it but not hindered on a daily basis. My advice to you, the consumer, is if you want this handle, you best make sure your package is unopened. Or at least don’t waste your time installing it if you’re missing pieces. I’ll add down here that this is mainly a review on the storefront. We have these handles (Schlage Latitude Century) on almost all our doors and they look great and operate well. My review on the features will be based on the item I expected, not the crap I received. Can’t take my anger out on a good product.

We recently decided to replace all of the interior knobs in our house with levers and decided to go with Schlage so as to stay consistent with the exterior handlesets. Schlage is a bit more expensive, but they are very high quality and sturdy, so I'm not too concerned about need to replace them any time soon. These are great looking and really updated the look of our house.

Used these through the whole house during a house remodel, feel solid and a great finish, went together easy, difference between these and cheap knockoffs the finish doesn’t feel like it’s going to wear off, definitely recommend
