Great alternative to the name brand!
The Paper Mate Flair may be the most iconic felt-tip pen, but it's pretty pricey. So, as always, I seek out more affordable alternatives to name brands in every product category, whether it's pens or placemats. Mr. Pen always comes through with great products at great prices! $12 for 36 felt-tip pens is nothing short of an outstanding value, and these particular pens work very well. They write quite smoothly, are comfortable to hold, and the cap snaps on securely. My only real complaint is that some of the colors look very similar to one another (seen in the photo). And, if you're a big fan of the color blue, you may be a bit disappointed, because there are only a couple of actual blue shades in this pen set. For me, however, that's not a deal-breaker because I'm not really into blue. Otherwise, you have lots of nice colors to choose from, so these pens would be great for coloring as well as writing. For anyone looking for a good set of felt-tip pens that won't break the bank, I definitely recommend these!

Good but not great
Bought a large pack of the black tip pens and they are great. The multi-color pack is okay. Some colors are not as bold as others. Will probably stick to the blue and black for now on.

Mr. Pen is the PERFECT CHOICE!
Mr. Pen ANYTHING is WORTH THE MONEY! If you are not satisfied you contact them, they replace NO QUESTIONS ASKED! They glide nicely while writing. They are juicy and the tip is nice. The colors and size are easy to find. Durable enough to journal and taking notes.

So fun but not a substitute for Micron PN
These pens are great! I got the 30 pack and it actually has 30 different colors, I couldn't believe it. And a lot of the color choices are, like, sophisticated. They have nice mustard and brown colors. I love brown and there's usually not more than one brown in any pen or marker set, if there is one at all. These have a plastic nib like Sakura Pigma Micron PN pens, that's why I got them. Microns don't have enough colors. Unfortunately these aren't a substitute even though they're fun. I knew they would have a bolder line than Micron pens but it's MUCH thicker, thicker than 0.7 a lot of the time, depending on your paper and writing style. If you try to use these on copy paper, the ink feathers and spreads, and bleeds through the paper pretty badly. Some colors are worse than others at bleeding, and it isn't based on how dark the color is. The worst one so far has been the medium orange color. The spreading and feathering are less of a problem on nice notebooks, so you can get a thinner line, but they do still bleed or ghost. The ink basically doesn't smear at all, it sinks immediately into matte paper. I tried to smear it with a wet finger lol but nothing happened, so I thought it was at least somewhat waterproof. But then a page got water dripped on it and that completely removed the ink. If the splash had been worse I could have lost info from that page (I'm using the pens for planning so that involves tasks and phone numbers that I can't lose). Oh and they did pretty well under glitter highlighter (I think it's acrylic). They don't write great on top of glitter highlighter. The pens are about 5" long with the lid on, I believe. They are the same length as my pocket notebook. But if you clip the cap to the book, the top sticks out almost 3/4". My pants have thigh pockets and that's where I keep my notebook, with a pen in it, and these work for that. The pens have a white plastic nib assembly that is friction fit into the colorful barrel of the pen. If you hold some of the pens upside down the white nib will start to fall out. I put a tiny piece of thin washi tape around the inner edge of the white piece and crammed it back in, and now it doesn't fall out.On the first or second day of having these pens, I fell asleep with the cap off of my favorite color. It was off for hours. When I woke up and saw it I almost started crying. You have to buy a whole new set if you need to replace one color. But I picked up the pen and it worked exactly the same as before lol. I couldn't believe it.It would be cool if the pens had color numbers or names. The plastic color is a pretty good indicator of color most of the time but not on every pen, and you can't compare the colors available in each set online very well. There is another brand (Lelix) that makes similar pens, and I'll try those someday to see if they have eliminated any of these issues, but the cost is much higher and it doesn't seem like the colors are as good.

So much bang for your buck! Love them.
These write so nicely, very comparable to the paper mate ones. Packaging was very nice, love that you get a cute little note and sticker. Love supporting smaller businesses, definitely worth it. Also the quality is 10/10! Very pigmented. Does not bleed through regular notepad paper.

Replacing your Paper Mate Flair? Maybe....
If you are looking at these pens as a replacement for your beloved Paper Mate Flair pens, you may or may not love them. The pens have similar ink quality and for the price, you get a large number of them, so that is nice for people who like to keep pens everywhere like I do. There is a minor difference in the way the tip of the pen drags on the paper, these don't have quite as smooth a feel as the flairs, the tip is much harder and not entirely felt-like, but the difference is very minor and they are by far the closest to Flairs as I have found (I try a lot of pens!).There are 2 big differences between them and the Flairs which you need to consider though: grip quality/shape and amount of ink.See the picture for the grip situation. The Flair just feels much nicer in my hand. The shape is better and the plastic feels much higher, quality simply put. Obviously, the shape is a personal preference and the difference does not prevent me from using the Mr Pen, they are still good pens! The ink, however does not last. I am very good at capping my pens, so it isn't a failure on that (I should add that the Mr. Pen does have a good solid click when you cap it that the Flair tends to not have). Taking large amounts of notes, I would say the Mr Pen lasts me less than 1/4 the amount of time I get from a Flair. Price wise, this puts the Flair ahead. From an environmental perspective, I also greatly prefer to reduce the number of pens I need to use, so for me, the Flair is the winner. If you lose a lot of pens and just want a pen that costs less and is close to the Flair though, these would be the best option I have found, hands down. So, to summarize, if you are replacing your Flairs because you lose them, buy these pens! If you love the Flairs and are hoping for the same quality and use at a lower price point, these are probably not for you, but they are as close as you are going to get if total cost outlay today is your primary purchasing factor - you won't save money in the long run, but you will spend less today and like the pens just fine.

Excellent pens!
I am thrilled to have discovered these pens. I have been looking for a good pen ever since they stopped making the "expresso" pens. For some reason these pens improve my handwriting. I have arthritis in my hands, and with these pens, I can write longer without experiencing hand fatigue. I love everything about this brand of pen!

Grown ups felt tip writing pens
Excellent fine tipped pens in a lovely range of colours. Perfect for writing rather than colouring. I think they are grown up felt tips, high quality but reasonably priced.
