Worth buying
Amazing books! My son actually read the kids version and I just finished the adults. Very well written. Easy to understand. Short and to the point. Love it

Good concepts, needs editing
The book is just okay. The concepts are great — classic even. It is not well written or well edited, and even youngsters can point that out. It does not read well, and does not have clear key main points. The chapters are muddled, the “step-by-step exercises” are vague and hidden in too much unedited text. It’s just not a great book. With such critical feedback, why the 4-star review? Because it’s a good idea. I don’t like the author’s continuous use of slang — honestly, it hurts my brain — but if others speak and read this way comfortably, this book could offer a relatable take on sports mental toughness with some editing. However, if you want your child to learn to consume quality literature, find another book. (By the way, children can read and understand at a much higher level than they can speak. Use that to their advantage.) As a book co-written by a youngster and father duo, dad should have sought out better editors to help with the project. You can have a relatable young voice and still create a well-written book. So I give it an E for Effort. I hope they can write something more compelling next time because I think they are actually on to something.

The perfect book for aspiring athletes
I bought this book for my fifteen-year-old niece, and this is what she has to say: I like that the author breaks down the fourth wall and summarizes the main points after every chapter. He's also funny and gives you a realistic experience of what is to be a young athlete. He gives you the process and the mental state of how your brain works. He provides resources and additional reading at the end of each chapter. It's a great book. I recommend it for every young athlete.

Worth the read
Excellent book! Easy read. Still not able to get my son to sit down and finish it though. Teenagers.

Basketball Team Summer Book Club Top Pick!
If you are an athlete you know you’d rather be playing your sport than reading. But I had my son read this book to see if we should read it for his basketball team’s book club. And it was an instant winner, even beating out Kobe’s Mamba Mentality. Below is a summary of strengths and a recommendation from my 5th grader. From the introduction, this book captures the young reader’s attention and it just continues to flow. The use of bold lettering, bullet points, and spacing makes this an easier read to stick with than a lot of other books. You can pause in between chapters and feel confident picking the book back up. I love the chapter summaries, quotes, and stories about successful athletes and their families. The authors clearly paint the picture that mental toughness is as, if not more important, than athletic ability. If this book is ever revised, consider ending the chapter with the exercise on it’s own page (after the summary and book recommendation) or end the book with all exercises combined. That way it’s easier to find and repeat each exercise daily in between readings. -
