This was a great addition to our skoolie solar system. It keeps our 400ah battery bank charged as we relocate to isolated campsites. It was simple to install, the app and Bluetooth work well, and it doesn't get crazy hot while charging. Use HEAVY battery cables to get the most out of it. Having it turn itself off when the engine stops (without running a signal wore to ignition or alternator) is a real time saver.

Game changer if you have both starter & lithium batteries. On our sailboat hooked this up, 8 month trip ran flawlessly. Changed starter batteries 2 100watt AMG’s, & then our 2 200watt lithium. Between the DC/DC & 500 watts solor ran the entire boat, including 12 volt fridge(55L) & freezer(35L). No generator, no shore power

What a problem solver. I needed to charge the 2nd 12V battery in a 24V series from the 1st 12 battery. With isolated output from input this does. The only frustration was getting the PIN correct for the Bluetooth connection. The printed instructions say "000000" but it would not connect. The next morning, I looked at the thing, and found a completely different PIN on a label on the side of it. That one worked. I've been working with chargers, inverters, alternator systems for 40 years. This thing is really cool. Very nice piece of kit.

Easy to install in your rv storage area . I got tire kingdom to run my 2 pole # 8 guage cable to the back of my truck, then I took it from there. Be sure and install a 40 cap in line circuit breaker. At the the truck battery. Get the 2 way trailer connection plug and receptacle…Don’t waste your money on Anderson connectors etc, they are insufficient..You can make a solder connection withe the female trailer side plug. Use minimum 8 guage wire.stuff the fitting with extra wire strands to fill it up. Propane torch, flux, and solder git er done….

The Isolated one is where you don't have a battery tied to the vehicle system. I used it in our Truck camper Which brought the power in via the same pigtale that connects the running lights, Brake Lights tail lights and turn signal lights. Therefore the ground was shared. When I connected the Victron Isolating DC to DC charger it Isolated the ground of the vehical from the ground of the camper which caused the lights to quit working. I should have purchased the Non Isolating DC to DC charger as the camper gets connected to the vehicle ground. If you install this one as described none of your Tail lights will work. This WILL work if you are running an independent wires from the vehicles battery directly to the house battery. My solution was to run the pigtail ground and both the input and output wires to the House Negative buss bar no it all works.

Horrible Bluetooth range. Do some Googling before you buy this. I have about 1m worth of range to this device. I installed it in my TV when I upgrade the battery system to lithium. I can connect when I stand right beside the camper, but have no connection inside the truck, which means I have no way to monitor it to see if the charge settings are even working. AND...And there is NO data logging without a Bluetooth connection, so I have no way to see if it worked afterward. I could try leaving my phone in the camper, but that kinda defeats the purpose of having Bluetooth in the first place.

Update: I changed my stars I LOVE VICTRON DEVICES. I know own the battery shunt, Solar controller and DC to DC charger. Love them. RESETTING LOST PIN: If you need to reset your Victron devices, lost your pin, or whatever. Take a picture of the labels around the device before you install them and store it somewhere on a computer or phone for reference. There PIN and PUG is on the stickers. The PUG is use for resetting the PIN, its a security feature to allow only persons in physical proximity of the Victron device to reset the PIN, blocking everyone else. ORIGINAL MESSAGE: Will change my rating once I get a pin that works. Everything went well, but I am unable to enter the 000000 pin number it is asking for on initial setup. I got my phone as close as 6 inches to make sure bluetooth connects and when it ask for the pin, the same message pops back up again asking for the pin - endless loop.. Cannot get it to join the other two Victon products I own and have on my iPhone.
