Works like a charm
When first tried it, it squirted sideways. Huh! THE TIP IS TINY * 2mm OD and 1mm ID*, I didn't notice a burr on the tip that blocked the end. I carefully trimmed off the tip about 2 mm back with a good scissors and I was good to go. After I trimmed the tip and put water in the reservoir, it ran out the bottom. I had to put my finger tip on the tip to block the hole, then put some water in the syringe. I then place the plunger lightly in the syringe and turned the unit so the tip was upwards. I slowly pressed the plunger to vacate some air and turn the syringe so the tip was down. No water leaked because of the vacuum created by the plunger. It acted like a pipet would. I needed this syringe to get into a tight spot with some bleach and this did the job. The tip, 2 cm from the base, curves off to a 60ยฐ angle. BTW, I immediately rinsed out the syringe to avoid the bleach from possibly degrading the plunger. And brother, does it squirt out a strong stream. I was impressed. Update: 2/7/2015. WELL, what a dunce! I just realized that the syringe can be fully assembled and with the plunger all the way in, you can dip it in water or some other fluid and pull the plunger back sucking the fluid up the chamber through the tip. No muss, no fuss. Super easy and a great tool. Sorry for being dopey.

Does The Job
Great product, super affordable. I used one of these after oral surgery. Later when I asked about obtaining another, the hygentist told me they were too expesive to hand out. BS! These are barely a buck a piece. Glad Amazon carries them and the exact same brand the professionals use.

I use these to remove tonsil stones and to clean ...
I use these to remove tonsil stones and to clean between my teeth. I don't think these are really meant for oral hygiene, as several of the syringes in the 5 pack has plastic barbs that on the end of the tips, which scratched the inside of my mouth when I tried to use them. Trimming off the barb was only moderately successful, it was still a little scratchy after that. I need the small stream to clean out small cavities in my tonsils, so trimming too much off the end wasn't an option. For the syringes that didn't have the plastic barbs at the end, they worked quite well at the beginning. However, after a month or two, the lubricant on the inside wears out and it takes Herculean strength to get it to squirt anything. At this point, they're cheap enough to buy some more (my 5 pack lasted me about 10 months, despite a few having barbs).

same from dentist
My dentist gave me one of these after my wisdom teeth to irrigate (clean) my open gum sockets. My recovery took a long time and I used it constantly, so the syringe didn't last long enough so I bought new ones. It was more convenient to just buy them here than take off work to go by my dentist for more. They were just like what my dentist gave me and did their job. I only needed one, but it was nice having so many so I could keep one at the office, in my purse, and at home so I'd never be left without one in a time of need (any time I ate). It's been months and they work just like day 1, but I haven't needed to use it much after a month or two.

Works
Great syringes. I've used these for years and 5 of these for the price is a great buy. My first use like many, was after wisdom tooth extraction. But of course there's thousands of other uses for them. From hobby/craft applications to mixing up your favorite hard fruit to bleeding brakes, these can be used for many different things. One thing to keep in mind is that some substances will either bond with or break down the rubber plunger, so you might get one use out of a syringe before it has to be trashed. One way to extend the life of the syringes is to pull the plunger back before you draw any liquid, or use a tube on the end of the syringe to siphon. Cleaning... They're not sterile, if you need something sterile, you need a different syringe. But, keeping them clean for oral hygene is a simple matter of mouthwash, salt water or hydrogen peroxide. I woudn't use alchohol to clean them, the alcohol can break down the plunger I've found. But they're so inexpensive, if I had to worry about getting one really clean, I'd toss it into the recycling and buy some more.

Curved Tip Syringes
The syringes are about 5 1/2 inches long from the tip to the end of the plunger in the closed position, all five felt and functioned about the same. The curvature of the 1 1/2 inch long tip is about 30 degrees. One syringe I packed with Militec grease. Works great, very controllable, am able to dispense a little of grease at time; the opening of the tip is a just little larger than a pin hole. Another syringe I filled with Ballistol; able to squirt a drop or a fine stream. Syringes filled with liquids should be stored with the tip in the up position; no liquid leaked from the plunger end when I stored it this way. These plungers work for me exactly the way that I hoped they would.
