FANTASTIC product!!
This pump has EXCEEDED my expectations!! I was ISO a lightweight, portable, affordable, weather resistant water pump; to assist in distributing water to a gravity fed irrigation system, in a residential application. . This product went above & beyond those requirements! It's sturdy, it's not too noisy, it's extremely efficient & has got a lot of power for its size & weight. I would 100% recommend this product & am BEYOND SATISFIED with its performance. Also, it was delivered sooner than originally expected. WIN! WIN!!

Wayne PC4 1/2 HP 115-Volt Transfer Water Pump, Cast Iron
Bought this pump so I could water my grass with sprinkler from rain barrels. I did a lot of research and watched some reviews on youtube but it was still not clear that it will work in this configuration. My next dilemma was buy local or through Amazon. After 3 trips to local hardware store nobody had it but it could be ordered. I figured if I had to wait I would just get it from Amazon, surprisingly it took only one day to get with free shipping, happy surprise! I have been using this for a month without any problems. I can basically hook this pump up to anything I can hook my city house water line up to and get the same pressure. It has no problems running regular hose nozzle, sprinkler (fan back and forth type, spinning circle type, tic tic tic type, even drip irrigation). Hopefully this pump will last for years. Too many things to list in paragraph form so I listed them. Pros 1. Pump is heavy duty and well built. 2. It has a nice handle casted into the frame. 3. Runs regular hose nozzles with same distance and pressure as city water. 4. Runs any of the sprinklers I hooked up to it with same distance and pressure as city water.. 5. No priming necessary when using a spigot on bottom of the rain barrel. 6. Empties 50 gallon rain barrel to sprinkler in about 10 minutes 7. Empties my three 33 gallon rain barrels hooked together in about 20 minutes. 8. Seems quite to me, I have heard way louder pumps. 9. Bushes are replaceable, you can find the kits on the internet. 10. Nice brass fittings provided with pump. 11. Runs fine on my 50ft extension cord and 75ft of hose. Cons 1. Had to prime if you were pulling water out of a barrel which was a pain. 2. Gets warm but not hot. I only run 10 minutes at a time. No sure how it would fair in a 1 hour + run? 3. Dragging hoses and electrical cords all around. 4. Price is little high. 5. No problem of pump but inherent to rain barrels is, dirt being pump to hose nozzles and sprinklers. Filter solves that but its added cost.

Simple, great water pressure, and much better than the cheap "made in China" pump I bought first
We need a water pump to pull water from our lake for the lawn. First, I allowed myself to be tempted by one of the cheaper "made in China" pumps on Amazon. It looked great, but came with like 15 plastic fittings that had no diagram and I'm clearly not smart enough to figure out how to configure all of the plastic parts on the intake and outlet ports of that pump. We wasted 3-4 hours of frustration, couldn't get it to work, then sent it back to Amazon. As a replacement I bought this Wayne PC4 - this is a WONDERFUL, POWERFUL LITTLE PUMP. It's idiot proof - hook a short hose (I bought a 5' garden hose) to the intake, attach the (included) strainer on the end and stick it in the lake. Hook a longer (I used 50', but it a 100' would have been fine) garden hose to the outlet, prime the pump, plug it in, and wait 15 seconds for it to begin pulling water. The water pressure was awesome - comparable to what I get from city water - which is 60 PSI. Downsides: * it's cast iron, so it's heavy. * removing the cap from the priming hole requires a crescent wrench - not a big deal, but they could have made this a twist-off cap or something. * there's no on/off switch. Plug it in to start, unplug to stop. Slightly annoying, but not a big deal. All in all, I LOVE THIS PUMP, and would buy it again 100 times - it's simple to set up, simple to use, and puts out great water pressure. Exactly what I wanted...

I used the pump to fill a tank that is on the second floor of a cabin and it pushed the water up the vertical distance without problem. Tank was filled in no time. It was easy to use and easy to prime. Also the connections fit either standard connections but come with adapters for garden hoses which was useful to me.

This pump worked like a dang for filling the pipes in in-slab hydronic heating. I left it hooked up for yearly maintenance of the glycol and other components of the system. I wasted my time trying a drill pump and and an RV style water pump. This Wayne pump effortlessly pressures the system up to the operating pressure ( usually 15 to 25 psi). It is great for purging the lines of air. It can be used for many other things as well. I LIKE IT!!!

I bought it to quickly drain a waterbed...it took a total of 20 minutes! Earlier this week I needed to drain a water softener to a sump 75 feet away. Again, 5 minutes. It's easy to use and fits standard threaded garden hoses.

Pumps water like a pump should... Currently using this pump to pull water from my above ground pool and push it through a solar heating system through my yard. The pump has no issues drawing the water out pushing it through 400ft of 3/4in tubing at grade. The one downside was it was put away with surface water on it and started to rust almost immediately over night (maybe saltwater pool caused). The inside still had pool water in and also started rusting. Since then I have surface wiped it after use and store it on its side to drain water out.

Pump sat new boxed for a whole year in my heated garage as my project took longer then Anticipated. Used last season june-sept to transfer rain barrel water to garden, pump worked great, just went to pull it out of the heated garage and noticed the casting is cracked. Not sure how long it will last because it holds the electric motor, pump was never dropped and cant see yo find the manual for warrenty. Any WAYNE pump people Help me? Was gonna order a second but having second thoughts now.
