Tracer Deep Hole Carpenter Pencil | Work Pencil, Holster & Sharpener

As a plumber, I use marking tools every day, and the Tracer Deep Hole Carpenter Pencil has become one of my favourites. It's incredibly well designed and makes marking awkward or hard-to-reach areas much easier than using a standard pencil. The long, narrow tip easily reaches into deep fixing holes, brackets and tight spaces, making it ideal for accurately marking wood, metal, plastic and masonry before drilling or cutting. The 2.8mm lead is strong, produces clear, easy-to-see marks and doesn't snap easily during normal use. The pencil itself feels robust and comfortable to hold, and the built-in sharpener is a really useful feature, allowing you to keep the lead sharp without carrying extra tools. It's clear this has been designed with professional tradespeople in mind, but it's just as useful for DIY projects around the home. The quality is excellent, and it's one of those tools that quickly becomes something you reach for on almost every job. Overall, this is a superb marking pencil that's accurate, durable and incredibly practical. I'd highly recommend it to anyone working in construction, carpentry, plumbing or general DIY. It's a small investment that makes everyday jobs much easier. Very portable and pocket size.

This carpenters pencil is perfect. it clips into my pocket securely & is great for marking out. I can extend the lead in the pencil if I need to mark out a point that is deep where you cannot do this with a normal pencil. It is easy to use & the grip is comfortable if you’ve got problems holding a regular pencil. It’s a good price & I thoroughly recommend it.

If you're anything like me, you can never find your pencil. I'm a serial DIYer, but spend most of my time pencil hunting. I swear I put it behind my ear... That was until I got my Tracer pencil. Gone are the days of vanishing pencils. It now sits proudly in one of the screwdriver loops of my work trousers. Simple to grab whenever I need it, and easy to remember to return it to it's holster. Apart from now knowing exactly where it is at all times, this is also a great pencil. It doesn't blunt too quickly, and is easy to quickly sharpen with the built in sharpener on the holster. It's not the cheapest, but I'd say you definitely get what you pay for. It's a well thought out design, and good quality. Just a word of warning, if you're using it to mark a deep hole, you need to be extra careful. The lead will be fully extracted, and although it's probably stronger than the average pencil lead, it is still brittle, and will snap with any lateral pressure. Overall, though, this is one of my favourite additions to my toolkit. It's simple and unsexy, but has saved me so much time now I don't have to play hide and seek with my pencil.

Absolutely brilliant 'tool' but doesn't come with any spare leads as advertised above. I couldn't get a refund or seem to find a way to contact Amazon about this.

This pencil is super useful and has become one of those tools I reach for without thinking. The build quality feels excellent and it sits very comfortably in the hand giving good control when marking my materials. The extendable design is particularly useful for deep holes and awkward angles making it far more versatile than a normal pencil. One feature I appreciate a lot is the strong pocket grip. Once clipped into a pocket it stays there securely rather than constantly sliding out when moving around or somehow getting lost as they usually do. It sounds like a small detail but on a busy job it makes a real difference knowing your pencil is exactly where you left it rather than lost somewhere random. Overall I genuinely cannot fault it. The integrated sharpener is a thoughtful addition as well the design feels durable and it performs exactly as it should. It is one of those simple but well thought out tools that makes everyday work easier and for that reason it easily earns five stars for me!

Excellent pencil. I always carry it with me when working. Would be even better if the top sharpened it occasionally when the fine point is required

This is great and I wish I'd got one earlier. Easy to use, easy to keep sharp with the built in sharpener, lid protects and doubles as handy carry clip, and the reach in terms of hole depth is great. For the first time in a long time I've had accurate markings to cut and drill to, will buy another if it ever breaks or I lose it.

Orded last night delived before 8am good colour selection ease of use durability and usefulness is good use fir work and engraving defiantly good value for money

First pencil of this kind that I have used that work i.e. The lead does not disappear into the pencil when you write with it. So far - have to ser what happens in the long run.
