Great bags, never had any problems
There are a lot of negative comments about these bags. I strongly disagree. I think they are great. Like all medela products. To address some of the common complaints I have seen about these bags: - durability: I have never had a bag leak or break. I sometimes fill them all the way to the top, sometimes I only fill up halfway. I sometimes freeze the bags, I sometimes leave them in the fridge. I sometimes put them in hot water to thaw, sometimes them them thaw in the fridge or on the counter. Never have I had any problems. - size: I like that I can only put 5oz in the bag. The smaller size (compared to some other bags) means that I don't feel like I need to fill a huge bag for fear of wasting a bunch of space I have paid for. Because when I thaw milk sometimes I only want a few ounces. If I only had huge bags I would need to thaw large amounts of milk, and then waste that milk. I prefer smaller bags that I can thaw smaller amounts and therefore waste less. Also, smaller bags make it easier for me to organize in the freezer. I can fit them into smaller spaces and gives me more flexibility. If I want to freeze a lot of milk then I use more than 1 bag and then thaw more than 1 bag. That to me is not a hassle. Two small bags to me are the same as 1 big bag. - ease of use: they are so easy. You can pump into them directly, or, you can pump into a bottle and then pour the milk into the bag. That is actually what I prefer. But both ways work. - measurements: yes, the ounce markings on the bag are not perfect. But medela warns about that. A bag that opens large on the bottom, and then narrows on top, means that the ounce markings will not be perfect. They are an estimate. I never had this be an issue, it is not like I need exact 1/4 ounce measurements. My baby drinks 2 ounces one time, then 5 ounces the next, and it is never predictable. Just like breastfeeding. So I'm not worried about exact exact measurements. - storage: I find these realyl easy to store. Again, the smaller size to me means that I have more flexibility when placing them in the freezer because I am not trying to make a large frozen bag fit into a tiny space. Bottom line: I totally recommend these bags. You can't go wrong with medela for breastfeeding gear.

Great for "Double-Duty" pumping! (Baby on one side, bag on the other)
Great, durable bags and so easy to use when Double-Duty pumping! I began using these bags when trying to build up a "freezer stash" of breastmilk before I returned to work after just 6 weeks of maternity leave. It totally sucked (no pun intended) that I only had that little bit of time off, as I could tell that my body was still getting adjusted to nursing my newborn baby. As a first-time Mom, this was a steep learning curve for me, the baby, and my body. The first few week (weeks 1-4) I didn't even worry about pumping milk, I just focused on feeding my baby at my breast to keep up with her demand and ensure she kept gaining weight. She did, so that was fine. Then, during week 4, I realized that I'd have to get her accustomed to drinking milk from a bottle. There were 3 full days of resistance on her part, but we made it through. As soon as she accepted both the bottle AND the breast, I was confident that I could then try to begin pumping milk on one side (for my "Freezer Stash") and feeding the baby on the other. After all, I was running out of time when it came to building a stash and having separate nursing sessions for the baby, and pumping sessions for storing breastmilk wasn't going to work for me. Initially, the trouble with that was the Medela bottle that I was pumping into (on one side) kept getting in the way while I was trying to nurse my baby (using the football hold, AND the cradle hold) on the other. These flexible, yet durable bags totally solved that problem as I was able to attach them to my pump part and it didn't get in the way of the baby whom I was holding on the other side! SUCCESS! Best of all, when I was done I simply closed the bag off using that secure closure at the top and sat it on the table, upright, until I was finished nursing my baby. I like the convenience and durability of the bags since they don't take up space in the bag that holds my pump + pump parts AND when in use, you don't have to worry about them getting in the way of things or losing the cap--like you would with a bottle that requires storage. When I'm ready to pour the milk into the bottle for her consumption, I simply set the bag in warm water to let it thaw out before pouring it into a Medela baby bottle. Very easy.

Great Storage & Great Thawing!
Since I was using a Medela Pump In Style, I just decided to stick with their bags. Unlike others, I have no major complaints about this product. I find the plastic to be solid and strong enough to withstand the temperature of my deep freezer without issues. Yet it is pliable enough for me to adjust it to get a good reading of the ounce markings on the side. It also lends itself to thawing quickly quite well. As for issues with closing the bags, I am not sure why so many women are having difficulties. Maybe it is because they are trying to complete it one-handed while holding their children. To me, if you can close a Ziploc bag, you can close the Medela bags. I've had no trouble opening them again after they have been thawed either. The strap is just a piece of sticky paper with one side coated with a thin layer of some sort of plastic. If you are moving around while pumping, it isn't going to hold up under all that movement. However, if you're still and not overfilling the bag (past 5 ounces), the strap shouldn't break on you. I will state this is one of the pricier bags out there, but if you can find a seller who offers it cheaper, go for it and buy in bulk.

Convenient for Work, but they have some issues.
I buy Medela pump and store bags for the convenience of pumping right into bags, rather than into bottles and transferring the milk into bags. I am a nurse at a busy hospital and if I want to get two pumping sessions in one 12 hr shift, I have to be as efficient as possible. With that being said. There are things I like and dislike about these bags. I have been pumping for almost a year now and have tried many, many brands of bags, so here is what I think. What I like: 1. The holes where the pump adapter hold the bags are relatively sturdy. I have only ripped a hole while pulling the bags off the pump adapter, and at that point I don't really care because I don't need the holes any longer. 2. The adapters that come with the pump work great. They screw right on to my pump accessories with no issues 3. The bags can "stand up by themselves" without assistance. More on that below. What annoys me about these bags: 1. They don't hold hold enough milk. I can produce 5-6 oz from one breast and only 3-4 with the the other. I ALWAYS have to pour my excess milk into the bag with less milk in order for both bags to zip properly. Hence the reason why "standing up on their own" is a nice feature. So as I'm preparing to re-portion the milk, I set the bag with less milk on the table while I wrangle with the other bag, trying not to spill its contents on me. I do not have this problem with Lanisoh and Nuk bags. 2. The zipper. I hate the zippers on these bags. I feel like it's too hard to get a good seal the first time I zip. I have to double and tripple zip just to make sure they are closed. I prefer the double zip on bags like Lanisoh. 3. They don't freeze flat. Maybe they could if you don't put very much milk in them. But due to their small size, mine are filled full. You may be wondering why I still give this product 4 stars with the complaints I have. Bottom line is that I'm still going to buy this product due to its sheer convenience. They are WAY better than Ameda store-and-pour (same concept as Medela pump and save, just a suckier product). The pros out way the cons for me. This product makes pumping at work more manageable and here's to hoping that the issues I have with these bags are fixed for when or if I have another baby and have to pump at work. ;)

Pretty great bags!
I used to pump directly into bottles and then leave them at the daycare for the next day, which was awesome. But... Then my schedule changed and I had to have someone else pick my son up instead. Lugging a bunch of bottles home wasn't something I really wanted to do, so I wanted a pump in bag option so that I could freeze them at work and easily take them home and pop them in my deep freezer. I tried the kiinde bags, which were super convenient, but incredibly inaccurate. I could fill up more than one bag on each breast on those, thinking I was some sort of Dairy Queen. If you pour those into a bottle though, your six ounces of liquid gold ends up being a little over 4. They are also pretty expensive. I made the messy mistake of trying to rig the lanosil bags and quickly learned that you should never do that. Ever. Then, I found these little bags. You have to make sure they are sealed up correctly, but I have to say, they rock. They freeze nicely, have a stand up bottom and come with the adapter for the breastshield. I keep a sharpie in my pump bag to write the date on the bag. Thawing the bag is super easy. I just pull what I need from the freezer the night before and it's mostly thawed by then. If I forget, I just run the bags under cool water until mostly thawed and transfer them to bottles.

Prefer these to a few others
While I don't mind other breastmilk bags I've tried, Lansinoh, Kiinde, The First Years Ziploc, I really like using these ones. I have Medela pump, so I use adapters that are included. I also like that these can "stand up" or be stored horizontally. Lansinoh bags are too soft and flimsy and can't be left in vertical position (when transferring milk, for example). The First Years stands awkwardly and I had a few that were ripped on the bottom and leaked while I was pouring milk. The whole leaking from the bottom could happen to any bag though. I love Kiinde bags a lot, but they are a bit pricey, teachers at my son's daycare can't seem to figure out how to use Kiinde nipples, and the adapter, when attached to Medela pump, makes the bag hang too low, which is uncomfortable at times. So this leaves me with Medela bags. They are very convenient, sturdy, and easy to use to both pump and transfer milk.

They're OK. Those spilled drops drive me nuts.
I use these at work. I have a few sets of the connecters now, so these serve as a great back-up in case I get stuck at work longer or forgot caps for bottles. These are OK. I only get them for the convenience of pumping straight in the bag. I don't get much milk to the freezer but when I do I like these better than others for freezing -- the plastic feels thicker. I just hate how drippy they are when you try to pour a bag into a bottle. Thoughts: 1) They are expensive, so I ration how many I use. I use Lansinoh 20435 Breastmilk Storage Bags, 25-Count Boxes (Pack of 3) (subscribe and save discount!) if I'm not pumping directly into the bag. 2) These spill SO EASILY!! And every drop is precious! I dump them into another container before pouring into bottles. 3) I wish they had a double closure. 4) The measurement is hard to read (as bag squishes you're not sure of the exact amount) What I do: After my little guy's asleep I take whatever is left from what I've pumped during the day and pour it all in a pyrex measuring pitcher -- that catches all the drops. Then, I measure out the ounces I need into bottles. But I did have one misstep with that -- I had a bag that hadn't cooled properly and all the bottles were bad the next day. I'm more careful now, measuring just what I had from work into bottles and then what I pumped at home. What I've learned with all bags is you can't fill them past the line they're designed for. Some look like they'll hold 8 ounces or more, but are only labeled with 6 -- that's to leave room for expansion when the milk freezes. I recommend thawing inside another (sandwich) bag to be sure.

Passt nicht auf alle Medela-Pumpen
Die Taschen selbst sind großartig. Der Adapter passt aber absolut nicht auf alle Medela-Pumpen. Ich habe die Schaukel und es passt nicht.
