Has anyone used this product for banisters inside house?  If, yes, does it look Ok, would you recommend it for inside?

Yes, that is where we are using this product right now. It works as well inside the house because of its construction. The material is very flexible yet strong and is easily attached to almost anything with the very long (and large quantity of) zip ties that they provide. You can cut the ties to the length that you need once secured and the product should stay in place. Without the weather to worry about, I would estimate that the product would last much longer inside the home. Using more zip ties also makes it more secure and rigid so you have a very taut material that is not going to break or tear, and yet is somewhat flexible and not sharp or dangerous to those that press against it. As with all manufactured plastic type materials, they should be checked for sharp points if you have small children exposed to the surface of the product and just use good judgement in securing the product to the banister.

What is the colour? translucent? clear? white? cloudy white? seems opinions differ...i want something that's not noticable thanks

It's kinda clear/white. Definitely noticeable. Don't buy it though. It's not UV protected and it only lasted less than a year before it literally crumbled in my hand.

How much weight can it hold?

I can't say for sure, but it handles my 25 pound son rocking back and forthwith it stapled to the railing.  I don't think you need to worry about it bearing weight so much as how sturdily it;s secured to whatever surface it;s on.  I used inch long staples into wood.  It  has held since mid 2013.
