I need to apply it over a white paint.** A: We ordered this twice and received 'natural' (both times) which will not work over white paint, but is meant to be applied to natural wood. I sometimes build wood or melamine auxillary tables for my tools for big projects. Stay away from waxes with silicone in them for wood working purposes. If there is any silicone residue left on the tool's surface and it transfers to the wood you're cutting it could prevent that piece from taking a finish or even create a weakend glue joint. This wax will not do that. BUT to be perfectly safe buff it off well B4 using it. This stuff works great for creating a slick surface. I even use it on finished wood like drawers that slide on wooden runners. With whatever your using it to apply (I use cheese cloth)it will be come smooth and cream as you rub it into your furniture. I actually let it sit for a bit, then rub with the grain until actual results are obtained.I have a special brush, a semi-firm round bristle brush to get into all the nooks and spaces.In warmer weather the paste is softer, but it does warm with the warmth of your hand. I wanted something to protect the surface without using polyurethane due to the strong fumes, and this was a great alternative. It’s easy to apply — just wipe on and wipe off — and it leaves a nice, protective finish. After several months, the cabinets still look great, and the surface holds up well.
