The taste is less salty than regular soy sauce and it is amazing when fresh crushed garlic is added to it! We are going to take this when we go to our favorite sushi place.

Yes, it's rather expensive, but it will add so much to your cooking. A little smokey flavor to the soy is wonderful. You'll find it really turns up the flavor is so many things you use soy sauce for. Even just on rice it is incredible.

I'm a big tamari fan so when I stumbled upon a smoked soy sauce in a restaurant shop I bought it to try. It was in a small bottle so it didn't take long to use it, especially given how much I enjoy marinated baked fish and sushi. I was very glad to find this online, especially given its larger size. The flavor is rich and it has a depth and smoothness that adds flavor to my vegetable roasts and sautees as well as my marinades and dipping sauces. So good!

I didn't get a lot if any of a smokey flavor, however this soy sauce is wonderful on rice and sushi. It has a lot more delicate flavor than your standard ofd shelf soy sauce. I'll be trying different sauces in the future, but might come back to this one if the others are found lacking. Great taste overall.

This product is cheaper on Amazon than what I pay for at my local specialty grocer. Came quickly, unspoiled, and in good condition. Used recently in a beef jerky marinade and it added a delicious salty, savory, and smoky hit. The smoke is not too strong either. Don’t expect liquid smoke levels of intensity. More so it adds a bouquet of hardwood, and a subtle flavor of a smoke, as well as the savory flavor of a high-quality shoju.

Going on to buy my 3rd bottle of this delectable soy! I wouldn’t really consider the flavor profile to be smoky, but it is definitely world’s apart from any other soy you have used before! Hard to describe as it is actually “lighter” than a typical grocery store or Asian market soy but it really delivers an intense flavor punch. Gives all foods from poke to Hawaiian Mac salad to dumplings to plain old ramen noodles a sophisticated “je ne sais quoi”

What an absolutely game changing soy sauce. The smoky flavor is subtle but clearly there. We buy a sashimi grade salmon order every year and this soy sauce was just the perfect compliment to the meal. I have been purchasing their fish sauce for the past few years - also a remarkable product. This company is extremely high quality. What a treat.
