Mattel Disney and Pixar Cars Toys, Color Changers 3-Pack Vehicles with Lightning McQueen, Mater & Jackson Storm Toy Cars

Seldom have I seen a toy so loved and played with as these color-changing Cars. My 3 year old, who loves Disney Cars, received the green-purple color changing Mater as a Christmas gift. The rest of the world ceased to exist for him as he sat blissfully at the table, watching it change color as he dipped it alternately in cups of hot and cold water. Tragically, in the chaos of all the family and Christmas activities, the Mater was lost. My son was devastated. There were no more to be found in the stores, except for those that were way over priced online. Enter this 3 pack, which not only has the original Mater that he lost, but a lightning McQueen, always a hit, and my personal favorite, the impressive blue to black Jackson Storm. They go everywhere with my son, in the car, in the bath, in bed. If you have a Cars loving child, I highly recommend these toys that provide hours of entertainment. These are inexpensive toys that bring endless joy, and make great gifts. 8/5/24 Updating to add: My son now has 6 color changers and they remain some of his favorite toys. With time, however, these do appear to stop working, partially or almost fully. From other reviews it seems that some don’t work right out of the package, but that seems to be a rarity. 3 cars (all purchased at different times) all suspiciously stopped working as well as they did when first opened. The color change effect to hot wouldn’t go all the way, and when just at room temperature, take on this “in between” color. Cold seemed to work, just not the hot color. For example, one of the ones this happened to was Jackson storm. When cold, he turns black. When hot, blue. At room temperature, he now remains a grayish blue. My theory is that these cars’ color changing ability is damaged if exposed to too much heat. Left out in the sun, or if dipped in water that’s just a bit too hot. I suspect the latter was what happened here. For this reason, keep water below 110F to keep these cars changing better for longer.

My 4 year old grandson so excited to watch product change colors in water, also loves playing with the Disney Cars. I would recommend for children 3 years old & older.

Bought this set for my son's 3rd birthday because he loves Cars. I thought they would be fun for bath times and they definitely make it easy to coax him in for a bath. He plays with them wet and dry and puts them to the test. They are holding up well with some small scratches and scuffs that I world expect to see. They color change just like the product pictures... you need REALLY cold water for one end of spectrum and warm will do it for the other. They will stay the color you dip them in (warm or cold) until you dip them in the opposite temperature, or you can partial dip or "finger paint" patterns. You can even just hold them in your hand for awhile to warm them to change color. We have alot of fun with them at bath time, he loves them. Great gift, glad I purchased it. Will be buying the firetruck stunt set with lightning McQueen too... it changes different colors than the one in this set.

Great quality. It clearly says on the packaging that to avoid items losing their ability to change their colors you should avoid using extreme temperatures. Initially I thought their color was the “cold” color, so I applied really hot water, not boiling but so warm that felt uncomfortable to soak my fingers. Nothing happened, then I took the second look on the packaging and realized that actually I should apply cold at this stage. Just tap water with some ice cubes added did the wonder. Use lukewarm water for warm, and ice water for cold, even rubbing an ice cube on the surface works.

We got these for my son as part of his birthday present and he just LOVES them. We fill up both sides of our kitchen sink (one with cold water and one with warm) and he sits there for about an hour each day playing with these cars. They are plastic and not metal, so they do feel different, but I wouldn't call them "cheap". There are some small spots on each car which no longer changes colors, but they are very small and has not dampened my son's enjoyment one bit. The cars are slightly bigger then diecast cars but not by much. Would recommend for any fans of the Cars movies who also love to play with water!

My son is car/truck/any vehicle obsessed and has recently discovered color changing vehicles. He loves playing with these! I set him up with a bowl of each warm and cold water w/ ice cubes and that will keep him busy for at least 45 minutes or so! Also the colors on these change so instantly! Which he loves, sometimes the other brands don’t change as easily or dramatically.

These cars are pretty awesome. The semi permanent color change aspect of it is new to us. I remember back in the day you had to dunk the toys into cold or hot water and the colors almost immediately changed back when the toy was pulled out. These cars actually stay color changed forever or until you dunk them again in different temperature. The cars change colors just fine. We did note that the cold color change need to be very cold for the color to appear. We set out a large bowl of cold water next to the warm bath and our kids played with them during bath time for the 3rd straight day in a row now. Good find.

I found these a bit expensive but my son was so excited to get them because it was a gift for potty training that I just bit the bullet and paid the $30. Best $30 I ever spent, he absolutely LOVES them, we are on day 4 of it keeping him busy from morning to night. Usually he's over new toys after a couple of days but this one he's still loving. They are very cool and change colours so easily in the water. Highly recommend

Lui innamorato di Saetta McQueen ma i giocattoli di questo cartone ora sono difficili da reperire e molto costosi. Le macchinine sono bellissime, non in metallo ma plastica, un po' più grandi delle classiche macchinine, il colore cambia con acqua calda e fredda e il mio bambino ci gioca tantissimo ❤️

Excelente presentación y calidad. Mi hijo estuvo muy feliz con los 3 coches sobretodo porque cambian de color dependiendo de la temperatura del agua.

Estos juguetes los compre por que se los regale al hijo de un amigo, y me llamaron la atención el hecho de que cambian de color, cuando los sumergio en agua tibia cambiaron de color, e incluso me mando un video de como fue el resultado. En lo personal si quieres algo diferente a los regalos como ropa, cochecitos de juguetes normales, es una muy buena opción al igual que por su precio...
