Great little pond pump, low noise and good flow
I have had this working in my pond for several months now without a single issue. Good pump volume, low noise and good suction. I purchased a net to go around it so no issues with the filter clogging up either. Good value and quality pump. Several accessories included as well

So far so good......
So far so good. I have a box filter hooked up to it along with fountain and hose going to ole hand pump that spits water. Good steady flow to all. Very easy to set up once u find the rite connectors which are provided with pump purchase. Seems well made and easy to remove vented cage unlike others I have had. I will update if something goes wrong with it but for now after 3 days use im a happy camper. I have a 1000 gal. garden pond.

Made a big difference in my pond
I have a decorative pond with 6 goldfish in it. It is one of the preformed type from the local building/hardware store. I have had it many years and had only a small pump/filter (500 gph) in it which went to a double waterfall by a narrow tube running over rocks. The water was always dirty looking and I had to empty and clean it several times a summer. When the pump died I bought a slightly larger one (650 gph) and had it attached to a filter box. That seemed to work a little better, but after about a month it was hard to see the fish. That pump only lasted 2 years. So now I decided I wanted a waterfall box for a stronger waterfall and a stronger pump. I got the 500-1000 gph. WOW, what a difference. Even my grand kids said "it is so clear, we can see the fish!". I got a smaller waterfall box (8" spillway) from Lowe's and a splitter to have a hose go to rocks for the second waterfall spillway. It is perfect. I wouldn't need anything stronger because then the water would splatter out of the pond and it would lose water. I am so happy with my purchase. Now to see how long it lasts. I liked that this one had a 3 year warranty, longer than most. It also seemed to use less watts than most its' size. My fish and I are happy this Summer!!!! Don't hesitate to get this pump.

Too powerful for our pond, but thereโs a fix!
Bought this to replace our 5 year old worn out pump. We have a garden pond about 50 gallons with a waterfall with a 3 ft rise. Bought this and it blasted the waterfall water and the pump has no volume flow control like my old one. Saw a hack online to attach an outdoor hose 3-way valve like youโd use with a garden hose. Screwed one we had in our shed in and, voila, now I can control the outflow volume without adding stress to the motor! Good price. Good product.

Tetra pond pumps are amazing!!
This Tetra pond pump is fantastic because it has a rounded grated cover which protects the impeller from sucking up decomposing leaves and sprigs of water plant like anacharis. These Tetra pond pumps also cost a little more but they seem to last a few years longer than most brands.

Great addition to my ponds
I bought 2 of these for my preform ponds that I installed in front of our house and included a spillway for each pond. The upper pond is a 50 gallon Biscayne so the pump is only having to pump water up 18" to the top of this pond for the spillway, but the other one is a 100 gallon that the pump has to pump the water up about 3 feet to the spillway that sits on the shelf of the Biscayne pond and sticks over the lip to spill back into the lower pond. This pump has no trouble maintaining a good flow through the spillway for a nice waterfall. The only issue I have is no fault of the pump or any of the hoses, but due to the wind blowing almost every day in Nebraska at 5-10 mph we have to add water pretty regular due to the wind blowing the water out of the pond as it comes through the spillway. I had already set up the ponds this season, but figured out this issue after thinking we had a slight leak in the hoses or at the connection on the spillway. I have since emptied the ponds until I can figure out a way to fix this issue without losing the eye appeal of the waterfalls. I also need to pull the lower pond back out of the ground to fix an issue with the hole it sits in because of the water blowing out and draining underneath it. It's possible that when I pull this pond out and fix the hole that I may be able to reposition it closer to the upper pond to fix the water loss issue. If anyone has any ideas on ways to fix this water loss issue, I am all ears and value any and all ideas. I will be adding pics in the very near future once I get time to take some. Pros: good water flow for the average decorative pond with spillways, easy to install (drop it in and plug it in), has good rubber feet to keep it off the bottom, easily attaches to the TetraPond 500 gallon box filter Cons: I don't have any

The shaft in the impeller will break!
The plastic shaft in the impeller will break. I replaced it with a welding rod cut to length. Now my pump is working again. My last pump did the same thing but didn't think to do this. So I had bought a new pump which is less than a month old. I did order anothet new pump which is due to arrive tomorrow. But this is a fix without any cost or hassle.

What you ordered is not what you receive. Pump was second hand.
Thought I ordered a new pond pump. Box came all beat up and it even had the other persons address on it. Where it was returned from. The pump was missing its 4 rubber feet and the discharge fittings. Runs OK though. Good thing I still had the old pump so I could take the old parts and add them to the new pump. I was desperate to get the pond operational again. If I knew this, from the beginning, I would not have ordered this Tetra 1000 GPH.
