Maple Wood Smoked Crickets

I was a little hesitant to try these Maplewood smoked crickets, but I'm glad I did! The smoky flavor is really delicious, and the texture is crunchy and satisfying. Plus, they're a great source of protein and other nutrients. I've been snacking on these as a healthier alternative to chips or other junk food, and they're surprisingly addictive. The package is also a decent size, so it's a good value for the price. If you're looking to try something new and adventurous, I highly recommend giving these smoked crickets a try!

Overall the product is pretty good, 60g of protein per 100g, and you get a decent amount for the price. They are great as a salad topper, or an alternative to something like bacon bits. However, the smoke flavor is to strong when not complimented by any sweetness, and I say this as someone who smokes briskets on a regular basis. Still, once added to another dish, rather than just eaten as a snack they are good. Note: Don't be afraid of trying insects as a food source, most of the world actually eats them, plus they are a great source of protein and nutrition.

It’s salty with a subtle BBQ taste to it with a crunchy texture. Best I can compare it to is crisps but I would pick crisps than this any day it would be cheaper and tastier than crickets. It doesn’t really have a unique flavour I was expecting just maybe a weird after taste if anything. Definitely intriguing to try, but not worth a buy in my opinion.

My curiosity finally got the better of me and I purchased these smoked crickets to try - and am very glad I did! I love smoky flavoured savoury food and these fit the bill perfectly. They are surprisingly light, but crunchy and flavourful too although if anything I would prefer more salt. A handful of these and some salted nuts makes for a highly nutritious and tasty snack, I am pleasantly surprised and will buy again!

Something very different but perfectly enjoyable thanks to the smokey flavour. I am not sure what these would be best for other than as a "smokey kick". Certainly a good experiance.

Delicious snack, crunchy, deep smokey flavour. Took a bit of effort to overcome my initial revulsion at the idea of eating insects, but the smell was very enticing and once I had tried them I was hooked.
