LA-based duo, Rhye, formed under the guise of creating art inspired by classic beauty and honest emotion. Recorded in Copenhagen and Los Angeles, their sound brings together elements of their modern cultural aesthetics mixed with an homage to classic sensibilities; lush strings and melodies intertwined with simple electronic production and soft and sultry vocals - a marriage between refined decadence and modern elegance Review: An Intimate Journey - All I can say is, WOW!! Rhye, Woman, is like an intimate journey into a modern woman's world of intimacy, involvement, and independence. And though I know every woman has her own measure, her own recipe for love, touch and feel. Rhye comes extremely close to what most women feel today. Even the darkness, though not jaded, just not needy, It is perfectly arranged, every song fits, and flows and really creates a catalog of music that is timeless and enduring. Some of my friends compare her to Sade. Side by side, Sade doesn't hold a candle to the luxury of Rhye's music. But if you like Sade, you will LOVE Rhye. Very accessible at first listen and extremely unique with every consequential listen thereafter. Really a great collection of songs that flow seamlessly. Review: one of the best albums so far this year - many have commented on the feminine quality of Mike Milosh's voice and all the accolades are more than deserved. Without any vocal pyrotechnics, he is able to make you feel each phrase in the song. There's a sense of intimacy to his voice that is captivating. The reason I think the album is so good though is because the music complements his voice so well. Each song is so carefully produced that even after many, many listens I still find new things in each song. Melancholy and beautiful.

Smooth Beauty
I can't get enough of this album. When I first heard One of Those Summer Days, I thought Sade came out with a new album. I love every song on this album but my favorites are Open, 3 Days, Verse and The Fall. If you're looking for something that's smooth, sensual, relaxing and beautiful get this album!

Love.
Bought as a vinyl, the actual record quality is not that great. A good one to have in my collection, but I hope that a good quality record will be released eventually because this album is phenomenal in every way other wise. Sexy, sensual, his croon is amazing and the production quality is top shelf.

Amazing!
I love this download. The entire album is wonderful. I first heard about them on NPR and was intrigued and had to buy it. Very chill, smooth and airy sound. There isnt a whole lot of change of tempo throughout the cd -it is slow, which I like. Buy it!

Best album since Quadron
And coincidentally, both albums are produced by Robin Hannibal, who is quite possibly the best producer in the industry at the moment. If you don't believe me just google "Dirty Secrets" by Louie, or possibly "Løb Stop Stå" by Boom Clap Bachelors. If you like these songs you will love this album. Also, if you have not yet heard Quadron's album, do yourself a favor and purchase it immediately. To put it simply, nobody is making music like this currently. NOBODY. This is actual music, not vapid synthetic fluff. If you want many successive eargasms I would suggest listening to Mr. Hannibal's music ASAP.

Stay Open to Amazing Music!
Seriously, I'm so upset I caught on late to Rhye, as it was one of my favorite records to play last year and listen to. They sound pretty much like Sade, except the lead singer is a man. I was drawn to them as she is my absolute favorite artist. The vinyl sounds great and I swoon every time I listen to it.

I had no idea the singer was a male when I fell in love with their music
'Open' and '3 days' are some of my favorite songs ever. The calming melodies with the soothing homely vocals. I had no idea the singer was a male. I did not care and I have come to love this entire album. I hope they continue to make music. [check out two of my favorite rhye remixes. Rhye - Open (branchez remix) Rhye - 3 days (saux remix) ]
