The rack is useful when it's built up, but this is where the issues come into play. The snap-together pieces are just so chinsy and fragile that assembling it is a total gamble of whether it will or won't stay together. One section had a manufacturing defect and wouldn't connect at all. One other section actually broke. Once the rack is together, it is fairly sturdy. Due to the design you need to have longer rifles like 20" or else they will not be able to lean against it. Overall, if this product was at the $35-$40 price point... it would be excellent.
