Exactly what I needed for bench pressing
I needed a barbell stand for bench pressing. This does the trick. The stand comes with assembly instructions and hardware. It is rugged, solid and I am not worried about it tipping on me. This is especially key when using an unattached stand for bench pressing. It does require a 17mm socket wrench and a combination wrench, crescent wrench, or combination thereof before you start assembly. Typically speaking, I follow directions step-by-step when assembling things with hardware. The last thing I want to do is disassemble what I just put together. In this instance, I strongly recommend that you do the last two steps in the STEP 1 directions (See photo of instruction). I did not read ahead and had to partially disassemble part C to D in order to complete part C to F. This was counterproductive. I'm sharing my story so you donโt encounter the same issue. The assembly time for me was approximately 1 hour. With a weight capacity of 550 lbs., I donโt expect to outgrow it. I currently use it outside on my deck but will be moving it inside for the winter months. It is easy to move and does adjust with ease. I think this rack is a great value.

Pleased; have the right tools for assembly
Iโve been using these for about four months for bench work and squats. They suit my purposes fine and Iโm pleased with the value. While they rock a bit when re-racking heavy weight, I have not found it necessary to do any additional stabilization even with 225+ on the bench or squat. That said, you have to control the weight and canโt just throw the bar into the rack like at a gym. I like the versatility of having individual stands you can move freely, and they store nicely in my garage. In terms of construction, they appear to me to be more than sturdy enough for all but the heaviest lifters. Caveat to that is the safety arms are a bit of a joke in the fact that they are about 3 inches long. I have not dropped a heavy load on them and donโt plan to. A note on assembly. Some reviews have said itโs difficult to assemble. Itโs not complicated, but some angles are awkward and the fittings are tight. Youโll save yourself a lot of time if you have the right tool(s). The bolts and nuts are large (1/2โ if I recall). If you just use wrenches to tighten everything down, it could take you hours. Get yourself an appropriate sized socket or two (a few bucks) and a ratcheting wrench or driver and you will have this done in 30 minutes max.

Great for low weights. Not great for Heavier weight. Wobbly. But great value
Absolutely perfect for me. I am new to weight lifting, and don't rack more than 65/75 pounds. I think if you were lifting heavy this would be a bad choice for you you should not buy this. You should also probably not buy this if you want something that is quality and solidly built. It is wobbly and takes some patience to re-rack evenly, but it's not a problem for the weight I am using currently. I noticed that there were a lot of people who had a hard time with the installation. The only reason they had a hard time is because they are most likely completely helpless and have never used an actual tool in their life. My racks came second hand. I laughed because I could tell where they started and then were like, NOPE and put it back in the box. Luckily everything was there except the tools, unless it doesn't come with tools.... But anyways, I went down to my shop and grabbed a socket wrench and a wrench and proceeded to tighten everything down. That was the only "bad" thing about it. The install will be tough for soft handed long fingernailed city ladies or similarly afflicted soft men with no experience with any kind of hand tool. You know, helpless people. The only thing that is off-putting is the plastics. They don't seem to fit correctly when you place the catch arms for bench pressing on the taller setting. They seem to kind of haphazardly sit there and the plastics pop off....

Solid performance
Easy to assemble. I was impressed by how solid they are. Light weight so they move around my space well and store out of the way. Adjustable so they work for a number of different lifts. Great addition to my home gym.

Solid for such a dirt cheap price. But remember, you get what you pay for ;)
Bought these to start my home gym set up. I'm on a tight budget so I got these for squats and other barbell lifts with my bench. I don't understand all the complaints about assembly from other reviews about complexity. Made all the abuse from my wife making me put Ikea furniture together toughened me up, but I found it tedious but straight forward to get them all set. I've had up to 225 on these to date and they held up fine. That being said there's definitely some stability issues with these. As others have mentioned, highly recommend that you put additional weight on the base to reduce the chance of tipping. If weight is shifted forward, either on the top stand or the safeties, it easy to tilt it forward. I would recommend some cheap sand bangs to help add weight to the base to prevent that from happening. My other issue without a connection from stand to stand, it's ridiculous to get these things squared up properly. I have messed with lining them up forever, and as soon as I get underneath on my bench it's clear they are misaligned. I try hard not to be OCD about these type of things, but it throws me off something fierce. All in all they work and are dirt cheap. If you need to get started and are on a tight budget, you should give them a shot. If you have more money to play with or are moving serious heavy weight, I'd recommend you upgrade to something more heavy duty and sturdy.

Inexpensive, sturdy bench-press racks.
I was looking for a simple set of standards to use with a small exercise bench I bought on Amazon to use for light bench presses for toning. It needed to be something I could store in a walk-in closet, since I retired and moved to a much smaller home. I found these, read reviews and felt they were just what I was looking for. They fit my needs perfectly. They are well engineered, solid and easy to assemble. All that is needed is a pair of 17mm wrenches (I used my ratcheting Gear Wrenches. A 17mm socket and an open end wrench will work fine too.) I've attached some pics of the assembly process as there are no real "instructions" that come with the stands. Very straight forward, bolt together assembly. The long "shoulder bolts" hold the bases together, and the shorter threaded bolts attach the brackets. When sliding the hard plastic sleeves into the ends of the bar hooks, note the little tabs on them that lock into the holes. I used a rubber mallet to tap them in place. Personally, I don't feel these are stable enough to be used as a "squat rack" set up as the box indicates, but set next to my Gold's Gym incline bench, they make perfect standards to use for bench presses if you're not lifting super heavy weights. A great product I recommend.

Not worth it in my opinion
For starters, this was difficult to assemble and the instructions weren't very helpful. Each piece took about 30 minutes to assemble, plus the prep and clean up time. You also needed several tools. After the difficult assembly, the holes in the stand didn't match up when standing at the lowest height. You have to raise the bar about half an inch in order for the holes to line up. The safety bars are interesting. First, they are a very long, so when you do the bench press you have to lower them to a point that they are useless as safety devices in order to lift properly. If you don't, the bar will hit them. Next, the pins that they lock in with aren't very good. They don't go all the way through. Actually, they can't. For some reason the other end of the safety device is closed. I don't know why they would design a safety product like that, especially since the pieces that hold the adjustable bar can go through both ends. Furthermore, the screw pin to hold the safety sections is very short and often doesn't screw out correctly. The pin stays stuck and you find yourself struggling to remove it. Once you do remove it, the spring in it usually pops out and you have to put it together again. This happens every time you want to adjust the safety devices, on both sides! FInally, they wobble. It feels like they want to tip over when putting the weights back on the rack. There is a saying that goes, "you get what you pay for." This was the least expensive product I found, and I got exactly what I paid for. If you want to avoid my mistake, look around and be willing to spend a bit more for a better product.

Holding up well after 3 years!
I have used this squat stand 3-4 times per week for the past 3 years, and it's holding up very well. I haven't used it for much more than 225 lbs based on how much I can lift, but it is a GREAT fit for my tiny basement home gym. I use it for squats and bench press. I remember assembly being pretty easy -- probably nice to have a socket set. I would highly recommend this for any casual / intermediate lifter looking for a compact but functional setup.
