This model isn't portable and requires to be plugged at all times. I do believe they do a model that can be charged and used without cables.

Is there an option for this device to play all night?

Yes. You can either use the timer or else just switch on & it will stay on until you turn it off. It’s an amazing machine. We get great sleeps with this on all night & it drowns out my partners snoring.

What is the item made of? Is it breakable ?

It looks like very stong durable plastic to me and a rubbery top. I'm more than happy with the quality.
